Wealth based systems are the future. #Bitcoin is the foundation for wealth based financial capital. Critical thinking is required. Bitcoin class of 2017.

No edits, no deletes. We do this live, just like life itself.

Ok, basically there doesn't seem to be anything that I can do with this without a SIM card. Not enough memory to even load a web page on Chrome. The networks really have us over a barrel when it comes to these devices, don't they.

Yeah, that looks like it has potential. Not techy enough to be able to just do something like that without an FAQ. I'm guessing that you mean directly from the Github or APK? Which Asset do I download to install on Android?

There is no SIM card, so I probably need that before I can install apps or do anything, but it's a completely empty phone and I'm just curious what I can do with it.

Is there a Nostr app that I can install on an old LG Stylo 2 Plus running Android 7.0 (not upgradeable) that I could install through the Chrome browser without going through the Google Play Store?

Investigative journalism should be celebrated, not punished. I find it interesting, but it doesn't negate from what nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 built and what the other devs are building. If it bothers people and keeps them away from Nostr for a while, that's on them, not the system. It's certainly not on us.

Doesn't matter to me. I may disagree with him on 90% of issues, but I like what he built and I hope it destroys all challengers and defeats the corporate networks over the next 5-10 years.

Of course I missed a zero.

Back in August 2023 I wrote, “Nostr Ensures a Free Internet for the Future”

Being from the left camp, I knew what was to come in terms of claiming nostr is some right wing fantasy (although community may lean this way, the protocol is neutral and certainly worth fighting for to exist and grow). Here’s the first couple paragraphs:

“A dangerous trend has emerged in the United States that is seeing terms like “free speech,” “censorship resistant,” “privacy” and more become co-opted by those on the political right, while tools enabling these principles are argued and fought against by those on the political left. The truth is that freedom, privacy and censorship-resistant technologies are important for everyone, regardless of political leanings and they should not be politicized, lest we head down the path toward a dystopian future with no privacy or free speech guarantees, and only centralized institutions controlled by people with the ability to censor, revoke and remove important guarantees of freedom promoted in the spirit and language of the U.S. Constitution.

Just as Bitcoin has falsely become politicized as a more right wing/Libertarian technology — explained away by others as having no value or as a tool for criminals and those who disregard the dangers of climate change — open and decentralized protocols like Nostr could enter the same cycle and become politicized or fought against, unless we share more reasons why it is important for all of humanity and not just a political position to take.”

Fight on nostr. We are all nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 💜

The US Constitution can only function on a hard money foundation, like we had in 1789. I'm serious. What we have going right now is a zombie nation built on top of a legislative house of cards and a fiat executive branch that is not accountable to the people.

I'm becoming more and more aware of just how bad this situation is and what we have to do about it.

What's the best source for a chart tracking the growth of people using Nostr?

The Facebook algorithm is insane.

I posted a link to the St. Louis Federal Reserve, showing how the Prime rate had changed between 1955 and 2024. And they thought this was an adult sexual solicitation?!

I know I’ll start sounding like nostr:npub1cj8znuztfqkvq89pl8hceph0svvvqk0qay6nydgk9uyq7fhpfsgsqwrz4u here, and I know there’s probably stuff we disagree on, but you know what…

Both democrats and republicans make decisions that lead to more money printing and inflation!

So the argument that it’s only progressives that believe in centralized authority, money printing, government control, etc…totally false!

I think what you mean to say is “I don’t like the way progressives use government control and money printing.” Which is fine if that’s your opinion. But republicans also use government control and money printing, maybe you just tolerate it more?

Daily I get trolls that say you can’t be progressive and a bitcoiner because of those reasons stated above. You could spin the same argument and say you can’t be a bitcoiner and conservative, whatever. Which of course isn’t true.

I’ll say it again — Bitcoin is anti-authoritarian. There are authoritarians in all nooks and crannies of government and political parties.

"Progressive" is a subjective label. It means different things to different people. So of course we can't be "progressive" and a "bitcoiner", at least not when the definitions of those terms in the minds of the person making the statement don't seem to jive.

It would be really nice to have deep level conversations about what labels mean before we start pushing the narrative that this or that person is the very model of a modern major ... whatever.
