Who else has roof mounted a lot of solar panels? Our house has 2x4 rafters on 24” centers which is not ideal for about 2,000lbs of panels and mounts.

Adding collar ties and struts to beef it up.

Any other ideas?

Today was probably the last cool day in Texas til fall so it had to be done!

In last nights show my wife mentioned a lady named Judy Stedmann that got one of our chi puppies last year. Judy and her husband just lost everything other than clothes and animals in the Alberta wildfires.

My proof of work for today.

Small covered bridge over the pond outflow.

The frame is some old scaffolding the previous owner left on my property. My original plan was to cut it off flush and just have a walkway, but the idea for a covered bridge popped into my head.

All reclaimed scrap lumber and metal. Just need one more piece sheet metal to finish it up.

I think this is Zantedeschia aethiopica , the calla lilly. It randomly popped up in my garden, I never planted it. Supposedly it’s native to South Africa (zone 8usda), yet I’m in South Carolina, US (zone 7usda). It seems to be a tropical plant so it’s odd it popped up here

Thought this was really interesting, never had something like this happen I don’t think
