Izumo-taisha (出雲大社, "Izumo Grand Shrine"), officially Izumo Ōyashiro, is one of the most ancient and important Shinto shrines in Japan. No record gives the date of establishment. Located in Izumo, Shimane Prefecture, it is home to two major festivals. It is dedicated to the god Ōkuninushi (大国主大神, Ōkuninushi no Ōkami), famous as the Shinto deity of marriage and to Kotoamatsukami, distinguishing heavenly kami. The shrine is believed by many to be the oldest Shinto shrine in Japan, even predating the Ise Grand Shrine.

My wife and son are staying for an additional 2 weeks and I wish I could stay with them but I need to get back to the grind.

These past 2 weeks have made me feel like the luckiest man on the face of the earth.
Loving family and friends, travelling to a beautiful country #Japan, eating delicious food everyday.
I truly could not ask for more.
I am blessed to be surrounded by such kind souls.
I feel like I’m in a dream.
I’m chilling at an Onsen in Shimane Prefecture, taking a nice long bath.
Life has its ups and downs but without a doubt, these are some of the best days Ive ever experienced.

Matsue Jō
Matsue Castle
One of my favourite things to do in #Japan is to visit the castles.
The architecture and design of the castles as well as the moats always fascinates me.
You can see first hand, the philosophy of self defence/ self preservation.
This philosophy can be applied to the life of oneself. Protect yourself and your loved ones like your life depends on it because it does.
You can always rebuild a castle but you cannot rebuild your life once lost.
Health is wealth.
