Also, unless you have intel I'm not aware of, I think it's far-fetched to call #Samourai a "honeypot". If you ever installed their app you must have noticed all the disclaimers about privacy, running your own node vs. using their icelandic server, using Tor, etc.
They too understood trade-offs. They wrote great and useful FOSS software AFAICT. Made sense to me.

They ran a centralized server, that's the honeypot my friend.
That within of itself should've been enough for people to bow out.
Do I care about my nsec? Not at all.
This is a beta test for me - I act as if my nsec will be corrupted.
Until I can safely regenerate & signon in an airgapped way this is the only way to operate IMHO.
All of our nsecs are vulnerable, we didn't have an arigapped way of generating & signing on - but we will & this will mark the era where Nostr dominates the censorship resistant media sphere.
#Nostr isn't supposed to be better than trad social media.
It's supposed to be censorship resistant.
Zaps aren't some fun game you play with on Thursdays, they represent a real way to transact online without needing to request a payment or send to address - this has vast ramifications for financial privacy - a basic human right.
