Sup Jordan. Sucks to hear you having a rough go of things. Times are tough and your not alone as lots of us are out of work.

What are your skills?

Have you tried temp agencies? Sure they're not great jobs and they're hit or miss but they will be enough to keep you alive.

Below is my opinion and it might not be for you, but is an idea for you.

As to where you could look for a long term job go to any car dealership, auto body, car rental and ask if they hiring automotive detailers/car washers. Most detailing jobs only require high school and to be able to pass a drug test, in my experience. It's a valuable skill/trade to learn as not many folks are willing to put in the attention to detail to the craft to make them a master. Watch and learn about the trade on Youtube, absorb as much as you can. It can be a rewarding and lucrative career if you become known in your local car scene as the go to guy for paint correction, painting, body work, etc.

Once you get enough confidence start your own detailing practice while still working for your employer on the side and start handing out cards at your local Cars & Coffee or other car meets advertising your business. You won't make big money until you establish some cred if you decide to venture down this path. I will post a Ziprecruiter and Indeed link below so maybe you can get some ideas of where to hand out resumes. Don't rely on them though solely, start knocking on every dealer or auto body you can find and see if their hiring or if they know someone who is hiring detailers.

As nostr:npub10chlkc62tk7yr5m9qjc2u7rs3ufhhrq8yukeey0c5lysqkp2gumq93mnex said on your note learn sales and marketing as well as that is most valuable skill you can have both as a business owner and applying for jobs as interviews are all about selling yourself.

In short learn a skill and hustle. You have to REALLY want a better life. This is only a temporary bump in the road and if you want to get out you will do what it takes.

Keep #plebchain updated on your journey and do a blog about it. Get a lightning wallet so people can zap you.

Keep your chin up fellow #pleb!๐Ÿ‘

True getting angry at the guy/gal trying to help you won't get your problem solved faster. They want to get you out the door as fast as possible and fix your problem as it reflects their KPI.

Can't really comment on the last part other than they must hate money and their customers? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

True it's not hard to me anyway. For others it is for some reaso.

Most customer service reps don't or are incapable of listening. Can't blame them though as call center jobs are soul crushing. Most burn out within 3 months, in my experience.

In a past life, I told my trainees the most important part of your body is your ear, not your mouth. Listening to customers and acknowledging their problems will defuse 80% of angry phone calls you will get and you will be able to keep your sanity. People want to be in and out fixing their problem, so using your ear is the most important thing, I told them. Another thing that goes a long way is not acting like a robot and reading the script provided line for line. Corporate policy dictates this though, but if companies allowed their customer service reps to show a little personality and fix the clients problems faster without going though the motions the client would appreciate it and wouldn't dread calling the help line.

Good morning fren!๐ŸŒ„โ˜•

Wildfires? Had the smoke make the sun hazy like that last week here in East Canada/USA because of the wildfires out west in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Have a happy hump day!๐Ÿช
