Right now deeply focused on Bitcoin and economics in general. Econ has always been an important topic for me, and I’m only recently diving in deep on the Bitcoin connection. I’ve been reading and blogging on the topics a lot.

Outside of that: huge fantasy reader, sci-fi watcher, and software dev. Only non-nerdy thing is weight lifting

Currently listening to The Creature from Jekyll Island audiobook. Anyone else read it? Definitely enjoying it so far.

Thank you! I'm updating my NIP-05 nostr.json file, plus adding to my clients. Hopefully the NIP-05 relay info will get picked up directly by clients at some point, but at the very least having a file listing all my preferred relays will be helpful.

I'm trying to use #snort (and, for that matter, other clients). My list of relays is completely empty, and trying to add anything to the list makes no difference. Has anyone seen this or have any recommendations?

Overall, it looks like I should (1) focus on one primary client to use from web and one from mobile and (2) make sure I have a consistent set of relays set up for both clients. Is that considered best practice?

nostr:npub1cashuq3y9av98ljm2y75z8cek39d8ux6jk3g6vafkl5j0uj4m5ks378fhq is very simple and easy to use too as a Cashu wallet with Nostr contact support.

I think Lightning/Cashu/Liquid is the next learning hurdle I need to overcome. I’ll check it out, thank you!

I went back to Snort and saw that the getalby address was still there and updated. Thanks for the heads-up!

This may be the impact of one of my onboarding errors. The lightning address _should_ be snoyberg@blink.sv. I thought I updated it in my profile everywhere, I'm wondering if there's an old version in one relay.

Nice! Now that I've gotten the basics, obviously the next step is building my own bot of some kind 😉

I probably made it more complicated on myself than was warranted. I was trying to connect my Zeus wallet with Alby, then getting confused about which wallet I was actually using, created unnecessary keypairs, and ran into lots of “non sync” issues.

I switched to Blink (yes, custodial, not a huge fan, but willing to be custodial for small amounts), got my keys sorted, set of Alby extensions properly and linked to Blink, and started adding relays. With a bit of practice seems to be working perfectly.

They have the gift of saying mundane things as if they are scary and important.

Getting my #introductions done. I'm Michael, looking forward to learning this Nostr ecosystem. Bitcoin maxi, Rust developer, amateur Austrian economist.
