”Outmanned and outgunned, Ukrainian ground forces are in perhaps their most precarious position since the opening months of the war
Russia’s assault has split into five major lines of attack, spanning towns and cities across much of the front in eastern and southern Ukraine”

”it is entirely possible that the world’s three largest democracies — India, the US and Indonesia — will all elect admirers of Putin as their leaders this year. Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia, Narendra Modi in India and Donald Trump in the US are all notable for standing aside from the international condemnation of Putin — for reasons that go beyond realpolitik.”

A brilliant way to get the message across.
This should be done with every city in the EU.
”FinX says the linear propulsion consumes less energy than traditional rotational propeller systems and also claims the design produces less noise and agitation in the water, making it a less impactful on marine life…
With the accompanying 72-Ah 48-V lithium battery, the FinS delivers an estimated top speed just under 7 mph (11 km/h). It's made to run at top speed for up to an hour and 45 minutes before draining the battery. Dialing speed back to 3 mph (5 km/h), the system can deliver up to eight hours of on-water time per charge. Estimated ranges come in at 10.5 and 21 nautical miles (19 and 39 km) at those respective speeds.”

The key is stored on the local device Keychain. All the data stays on the app. There’s no backend nor calls to anywhere except when posting.
The code is not open (at least not yet).
The app uses Mastodon’s oAuth and Bluesky accepts app passwords. Happy to implement something better for Nostr but I’m not convinced the solutions are ready yet given how many difficulties I have seen people having with those two platforms' logins in the last days 😂
Any suggestions how can I search across ActivityPub and turn it into a RSS-feed or straight up API request?
There's already some protos available such as the nostr:npub1n0sturny6w9zn2wwexju3m6asu7zh7jnv2jt2kx6tlmfhs7thq0qnflahe's nostur.com demo (see the bottom of the page).
Is it based on Fiatjaf’s version or is that another starting point?
How about a plugin (e.g. WP) that does the long-form (cross-)posting to Nostr but adds to the native WP post a small area under the post that can have the zapping functionality, maybe commenting (Nostr) and link to the Nostr post.
Just enabling zaps to any posts and showing the amounts & functionality could be a start why to look more closer to Nostr capabilities.
”Pegasus gives operators complete access to a mobile device, allowing them to extract passwords, photos, messages, contacts and browsing histories, and to activate the microphone and camera for real-time eavesdropping.”
”Europe is at war. Failure to recognise that, and more delays or hesitation in supporting Ukraine could have drastic consequences for the whole of Europe in the very near future.”
”A block on Proton Mail will be the second major blow to the Switzerland-headquartered firm, which had to remove Proton VPN servers in India in 2022 in response to a local law that required virtual private network operators to disclose their customers’ information to New Delhi.”

”Looking at Nvidia’s HGX boards, the chipmaker is able to achieve around 900 GB/sec of bandwidth, which works out to 7.2 Tb/sec, between each of its accelerators using NVLink. By comparison, Harris claims Lightmatter has a project coming out that’s 60 Tb/sec leaving the chip, which is 7.5 TB/sec of bandwidth per chip.”
”The Russians were willing to pay up to $39,000 for the planting of pro-Russian commentary in major media outlets in the West…
Practically everywhere this will be columnists, leaders of public opinion, former diplomats, officials, professors and so on,” a note attached to the price list states.”

Idefinetely means less than 4 years or is it the other alternative?
”Set your price for Pro before Oct. 7th and we'll honor it indefinitely.”
Something rotten in Italy, France and Spain
”As Putin’s regime grows more bloodthirsty and more arrogant, there are yet those in the West who want to reason with the dictator. They bury their heads in the comforting sand in the hope that Russia will somehow sort itself out, one day returning to normalcy. It won’t.”

Has someone already built this feature on Nostr?
https://feedback.descript.com/feature-requests
(It’s by https://canny.io/use-cases/feature-request-management)
If you could list notes (as user requests) and instead of upvotes it would be showing zap totals. Could be with a minimum target or just showing the total.
Was thinking how to take feature request but channel them in a way that would prioritise the once that users are really committed?
It this would be on Nostr might drive some people to try zaps and set-up a Nostr account.
Ofc, this can be done manually by creating notes and embedding them into some web-page but it’s a bit messy and hard to maintain.
