Why is #Nostr a tiny bubble by itself not connected to the others?

Nostr extension works for browsers but it’s not a mobile device term.

As we move to make apps friendly for all, it probably makes sense to move away from technical terms for logins. NIP-anything sounds too technical. Instead we can say log in with a nostr extension and include a tooltip on where to find one.

influencers gain “customers” via ideas instead of building physical or digital products. there is a lower bar to entry here, as it takes very little work to become a thinkboi.

Another thing influencers can do is invest in companies and people who build stuff, this is a co-adaptive situation where the company gains the benefit of adoption via the influencers and the influencers get paid from the growth of said company.

I feel like this adds a lot of fakeness to certain online interactions, and I don’t want that to do things like that. I have very much enjoyed just talking with users directly, building stuff that they ask for, just being open and real. Maybe I can build a successful product this way, maybe thats too naive.

Some nostr apps put posts in threads in reverse chronological order like in timelines. As someone who is triggered by top-posting in email threads this seems wrong to me 🤔

Twitter seems to put replies in batshit random order + magic.

Of course, I agree. I just mean it's slightly harder for nostr as people will be searching for the protocol, which has a million different options for clients.

But as you say, making it very quick and easy for them to get started on nostr.com would be a great first step.

If it were up to me, I would make nostr.com a nice landing page with a button to try right at the top. That would lead to a client right on nostr.com, for example app.nostr.com. Maybe this could be a fork of our "best" client. It would be the easiest way to onboard people coming from search. and within the app, we expose other clients.

What's that app for?

I tend to say nostr is a social media protocol, it works more like other internet protocols like the web and email than a closed plarform like instagram, twitter, and facebook.

It seems to work for a somewhat technical user.
