Put a barrel over my chicken feeder today. This completes the automation of my chicken coop. All I have to do is pick up eggs.

I don't have a secret. I've just attempted to bring them along with me as I learn to live life as much as I can. Routinely we mess it up but it's seems to be better than doing nothing or leaving it up to someone else.
Is a mesh communication network device practical at this point? I know the answer is it depends. In theory it sound like a great idea but I can't imagine enough devices are out there to make it actually work.

The beehive is full of bees and they are drawing out the frames... Only it's full of hives and this one new queen cell that has emerged. Guess I'll find out if she's still here.

Steam them either with an insta-pot or I have also used a metal cauldron resting over a pot of boiling water and putting the lid for the pot in the cauldron. Ice then for a few mins then get them out and dry again. I think air gets under the shell and makes it easier to peel.

Expanded the compost pile today. I think it's entirely to dry. It's mostly wood chips and manuer/hay from the barn. As soon as I get a pump to move water from the creek it should be able to get the composting going. Looking for it to be one ingredient of potting soil.

No I did not. It is something we purchased years ago. Generally it does well and we haven't had problems.
