Has to be always on. Mobile wallets aren’t always on. Due to OS shitting down background services or bad cellular connection.
Therefore a server is required until we can come up with more clever solutions.

What’s really cool about Damus right now is the ability to select which kind of notifications you want to receive.
I think that plus the “All”, “Zaps”, “Mentions” options works pretty well together. Only thing I’d might request is the ability to choose the order of the tabs on the Notification view.
