Why would you not want to see it? Cause they don’t zap you don’t want to interact with them?
Its for my mental health, I don’t like the cheap dopamine boosts. I also don’t like the bandwidth it uses and how it reduces the number of results returned in my notification feed. It can also be spammed unlike zaps.

maybe we could load in my home feed, when on Wi-Fi, the last hour of zaps, with that extra bandwith, even if that doesn’t update live / until expand, or at least light up the bolt to alert, and maybe cache the zaps column in notifications?
I’d love a mode where the only replies I see are those with zaps to the person replied to. That means zaps would need to be displayed as normal notes not aggregated.

I think a wonderful part of Nostr, is interoperability, similar core experience on all the clients. OnlyZaps removes that. Someone can like a post on Amethyst, and It will be hidden in Damus now, if OnlyZaps is on for the receiving user.
Nostr will never be perfectly compatible. There are plenty of clients that don’t do likes already.
it’s not hidden if it comes from a different client. You can see them on notes in damus, just not in notifications tab.
Maybe after wallet connect we should just attach the zap with like button. 🤔

But mostly on the reciver side. I applaud this effort to try to change from the old ways. The like serves the algo in legacy social media. Without an algo, it is not needed.

We could turn likes off. Then we can see which people don’t want friendly pleasantries.

Will there ever be filtering tools in Damus to sort by number of like/zap? Loosing the ability for likes in the client from Damus seems like it will effect how that aggregates.
people on clients that have likes that want to see what i've liked as a way of spreading quality content.
