Not to sound self serving, but that's been my experience.
So the other day, I saw I was down to 194lbs (yea the flu helped a little). Over the last 8 years while on the way down from 267 , I'd always thought that 190 would probably be right for me, but I looked at my hips and belly and saw there was still 'grippable' fat on both and wondered what my weight actually 'should be'.
I thought 'why don't I just google what the average weight for my height is'. Then I remembered 'this' family and though, 'oh yea, I don't want to be anywhere near the 'average' weight for my height'.
Guess I'll just keep eating human food and see where I land.
Same reason we have pine and not oak. Oak shows the devaluation of the dollar. Same reason we have seed oils rather than animal fat. Animal fat shows the devaluation of the dollar.
Regardless of what you price dollars in, everything but a worse fiat currency plainly shows the devaluation of the dollar.
Just had the worst flu of my life. Whole family got it. Wife, her siblings, their 20 some odd kids, Our son and his family, the 50 grand kids among the siblings... and then I got 5 migraines coming off of it.
Still wouldn't do a singe thing these people suggest.
Oh, and it all came from my mother in law, the only one in the family who got the flu shot.

From my perspective, and as I've told my grand kids, 'when you make up a story about your adventures with your pet dinosaur, that's fun and creative, but when you make up a story about whether or not you punched your brother, that's a lie, and that's wrong.'
For one, I think that is a MUCH more important message and differentiation to get into your kids minds and hearts.
Secondly, as creatures made in Gods image, we are to be creators, and thus creative, so while it can be debated whether the story of Santa is an expression of that or not, I think the idea of never 'lying' to your kids is not reasonable, possibly not as caring as you seem to intend.
