How do you achieve privacy or anonymity on btc?

In the past, whenever I was unsure about a direction that NostrPlebs.com should go, I asked the community. We've always been Bitcoiners building services for Bitcoiners and Nostriches building services for Nostriches. So, here is my current dilemma.

We're about to launch a new service. It has the potential to be very big and very important to not only us as part of our service offerings, but hopefully to the greater Nostr community too.

I'm having trouble deciding if we should brand this as a brand new service by Nostr Plebs. ie. NostrAwesome.com by Nostr Plebs or as Nostr Plebs: Awesome.

I believe treating it as it's own entity or its own website and a separate service under the Nostr Plebs umbrella is the way to go here, but I also don't want to dilute or take away from our branding. Part of me wants to continue to use the branding that people know.

Out of curiosity, what is your definition of "solid money"?

1. Statistical analysis is good, but claiming 100% accuracy is unrealistic. It is an educated guess at best. Ring Signatures offers plausible deniability. There will always be a degree of uncertainty when trying to model a selection algorithm that picks decoys from the entire blockchain with a distribution pattern similar to normal user spending habits. Even if a deterministic transaction graph is made of all outputs breaking Ring Signatures in the process, RingCT and Stealth Addresses still de-links outputs from transaction amounts and receivers' wallet addresses.

2. No one uses Zcash.

This wallet level bug is an edge case that occurs when a user spends an output within 20 minutes of it being unlocked. The use of output decoys is only one part of Monero's multilayer approach to privacy.

I've been sending with phoenix but receiving in Alby for the same reasons.

But phoenix update has messed up my sending/zapping capabilities.

So probably changing temporarily until bugs are fixed. We are still early. Ugh!

Monero bug:

Maybe Alice sent $[?] to [?]

Bitcoin without any bug working as normal:

Alice deifnitely sent $X to Bob

14 years of life and 14 years Bitcoin has zero default privacy lmfao

Go let merchants with real skin in the game know that they are wrong, not us.

Every argument he brings up effects Bitcoin tenfold, so I don't know how you/he thinks it is a unique problem for Monero. This guy also still thinks Monero has 11 decoys 😂 He is not talking about anything new that the Monero community hasn't been discussing for years already. Sender privacy has always been Monero's relative weakness.

As for the privacy bug: Even if all your insinuiations are correct (they are not it was probabilistic not deterministic), Monero would *still* be infinitely more private than Bitcoin as it only effected decoys (sender privacy).

Amounts and recievers would still completely hidden.

Monero is also not adopting Lelantus. Seraphis upgrade will increase decoys to 128 or 256 and eventually full membership proofs will do away with ring sigs for sender privacy completely.
