If we're lucky, we will be well cared for by our masters, who will treat us like a cute puppy.
We made profit from that. Among others, we hosted the UK's largest site friendsreunited.co.uk which was started by a school friend of mine.
I'm still in contact with the two founders on occasion.
I got a 45Mb/s fibre Internet connection that cost $20,000 a month back in 2001 in order to reduce my ping time in Quake
I also built a data centre and hosted some servers
That's more true than you'll ever believe 😂
FTTC, Fibre to the Cabinet, with Copper making the last half a mile.
We get about 60Mb/s down, 15Mb/s up with it.
That's the dream, it hasn't happened yet 😞
My wife did.
It turns out she lives in the next village and if the van hadn't of moved, she would have just finished work for the day and walked home 😂
So, as far as I can tell, Gigaclear is a company with 2 staff who work from home, while their head office is empty except for the cleaner, who they forget to let go.
Meanwhile, the road digging and external fibre laying is a contractor. The home installation is a separate contractor and the support desk is run by AI with a couple of dudes in an Indian call centre to monitor it all.
I think we have a political divide.
Long live cable ties 😂
When did we create a world where we can build machines capable of outthinking us and potentially killing us all, meanwhile two engineers are incapable of joining two cables together successfully 😂
Now the lady returning my wife's car after a service cannot leave because Gigaclear have sent their van to connect the fibre to the pole and it is blocking the road 😂
This was the drill bit that cracked it in the end.
He didn't get stuck as far as I know.
That's being hidden by a cabinet.
I'm also going to move the power to a UPS once working.
So the other fibre Internet engineer, not Ben, is in to "Crypto".
He asked me how much XRP I hold 🥹
I gave him a copy of my book and told him to stop shitcoining.
He asked me about future trading.
I told him to just buy and hold.
I gave him a brief history of my life to help convince him.
I'll never see him again, but I hope I've sent a ripple of good into the Universe, not Ripple the shitcoin 😂
So apparently the fibre hasn’t been connected on their side 😂
Somebody else thought this as well 😂
We’re starting off with 400Mb/s because I’m not certain my old Cat 5 cabling can handle 1Gb/s
We’ll do some testing and if all goes well we’ll upgrade to their highest 900Mb/s service.
It uses XGS-PON fibre, so they could technically offer 10Gb/s
Home fibre Internet installation.
XGS-PON fibre from Gigaclear in the UK
We’re starting off at 400Mb/s
If all goes well and our old Cat 5 cabling can take it, we’ll upgrade to 1Gb/s.
Technically the fibre is capable of supporting 10Gb/s
It’s government subsidised being that we’re rural.
In 18 months time the price will more than double.
If the robots ask, tell them I don’t know you 😂
I don't know what the words mean (being foreign and all that), but funny picture 😂
Bitcoin and digital nomads talk. Nice support but why do conference organisers start the programme at 09:30 when most have been partying the night before?

Yes, start conferences at 10am at the earliest 😂
Lots of Love here tonight 😂
That's about 50% of all homes on the planet:

Using your argument, the current peak has rate of 1ZH/s would require 1 billion homes to run 1 TH/s BitAxes
I've only seen presidents make money after they leave office.

If you'd like some help about this weird protocol we call NOSTR I wrote some guides here:

I would start with this one here for some basic concepts:

If you have questions, the tag #asknostr is a good place to start.
If you want to write a brief hello, use the #introductions hashtag to allow people to find and welcome you.
