An old noob, Army Reserve, Paramedic, Dad.

Test two primal

Testing primal app

This new years eve Uber (then Lyft) offered free rides home from parties and bars.

It was the first New Years I've worked since 1997 as a paramedic where I did not respond to a DD collision.

No government mandated it and i really think it was the reason there was only two county wide.

Replying to Avatar Jack Spirko

An easy way to explain the failure of government.

For decades the government tried stop "drinking and driving". This included billions of tax payer funded stupid ads no one listened to. Along with destroying the lives of many who were NOT IMPAIRED at all at their time of arrest.

And after all this drinking and driving along with accidents caused by drunk drivers was never really reduced. Any reduction happened in the 80s when the laws were first put in place from that point on, it was pretty much the same for 30+ years.

Then in 2009 Uber was founded soon followed by Lyft. It was so effective that some police departments (mostly unions) said it was causing a lack of "revenue" because they wrote so few DWI tickets. Governments from federal to local fought it all the way. The average DWI will cost a person 10-20K minimum even if found not guilty. Most of this was grift that went to the state one way or another.

California's government attempted to put all ride share drivers out of business with laws against independent contractors. This led drivers to form corporations and LLCs just to stay in business.

Las Vegas literally pulled some of the first uber drivers over at gun point and were pushed to do so by the cab lobby and the mafia that runs the Vegas cab business. The city of Austin tried to outlaw Uber/Lyft as well, again spurred on by Austin PD and police unions.

These are just a few examples.

Despite all this ride services survived and thrived and have done more to reduce DWIs and accidents caused due to them than 4 decades of state endorsed warfare on our own citizens and billions of dollars in PR campaigns paid for with stolen money.

The solution is Always in the free market. The impediment to these solutions is ALWAYS government.

D&D night!

facing off against a Boss type and 9 dire vultures.

Round one, our mage/monk cast fire ball on the vultures getting most.

The rouge, fighter and ranger attack the Boss.

I rolled the lowest initiative, so went last, the vultures all attacked the fighter who was up close to the Boss and he went down. My turn, up cast Sleep at 4th lv. 11d8 for 47 hp. The vultures had flown up 30 ft, and i was able to get all but one in the effect. This put 7 to sleep who promptly fell to the ground for 3d6 damage, killing 6.

We finished off the Boss two rounds later.

Win for the Sorcerer.

Iris, i'm having issues with my mobile app not attaching photos. Any of the brain trust have ideas?

iPhone 12.

How did we survive being kids?

Game Night. #DnD #TTRPG

after fighting the frost giant, we searched the hall and found...Ice.

The next 15 minutes the group discussed how to make martinis because you use ice to make it. Which then led to what is the best type of alcohol.

No game session is complete with out 30% being non-game material and Monty python quotes.

Looking for advice in #gardening

Living in zone 6b in an urban area. I have four 2’x8’ gardens I won’t be able to direct plant till 2 May. Last 32 date. I won’t be able to pre start either.

Recommendations on plants to consider?

In the #DnD #TTRPG game tonight, we were fighting a "nearly blind" giant who we tried to bluff by and our only person who spoke Giant rolled a 2 on the d20 to bluff. So he attacked crying out "Death I finally join you today!".

My Initiative roll was way low and I was last.

First attack on him was a crit, he was hit five more times then attacked (missed) then it was my turn.

"I cast Sleep, up cast to 3rd level." (9d8) and got 59. Putting him to sleep.

Then I tied him up and everyone asked "Why?"

"Because I'm not a nice guy! He wanted to die, so I saved his life to spite him!"

Playing #DnD #TTRPG and we found a "talking oar". The Ranger Goliath took it and carried it because it was so big. DM was confused but did not say anything. A bit later we came to a lake with a raft on it "but no way to move the raft unless you swim and push it."

The Ranger says I'll just use the talking oar".

We are told it is not working. When asked why, it is because it is a round ball.

It turns out that it was a "Talking ORB".

Which explains why it took an hour to strap it on the rangers back.

Just got a very interesting magic item in the #DnD #TTRPG we are playing: A Chaos Bolt for a Crossbow.

It is a magic bolt for the crossbows, but until you fire it you don't know the +#. At that point you roll a d8 to know the Plus. IF you recover the bolt (60% it will break) the + resets.

My Wild Magic Succorer LOVES it!

Playing #DnD #TTRPG with friends right now.

We were talking about a 1e PC I played back in the late 1900's (81). How the DM was upset that my Elf Ranger picked as Favored Enemy "Human".

Because I was an elf and was pissed off by the humans that attacked my village and I had to hunt them down for revenge.

And I was tired of being leveled out of the favored enemy. You stopped facing Orc's at level 3.

My first wallet I wrote down the words on a 3x5 card. Played around for a few months, moving sats, removing the app, reinstalling and the like.

When I went to set up a new computer, I could not find the card. I could still log into the wallet, so I set up a new one, then moved everything out of the old one I don't have the keys for anymore.

I can see why this scares people, it was only just over 1,000 sats, but still scary.

This is more of a Damus question but does apply to NOSTR.

I thought I saved all the keys (private, public, hex private hex public).

At some point I got logged out of Damus, and when I tired to log back in the none of the keys would bring up my account. At the same time Iris phone app came out and all that would accept was the public (view only) for my account.

Primal is the only place I can post from on my computer (the phone app is not taking any of the keys) and my Aldi wallet still works.

Am I stuck? Do i need to rebuild an account and start over? I really don't want that, and I have no clue what I did to mess it up. (which means i'm likely to do it again.)

Just got done responding to Radio Free Muncie and their comments on the Bag Wars.

Reviewed the amount of water that would be required to make a 950 mile march through a desolate water free area. over 3 million gallons.

We entered a room, I rolled a nat 20 on initiative (of course). We have three golems on our left 20 ft from the door. And 6 golems 80 ft to the left. Narrow walkways about 10 foot across.

I moved up 10 ft and cast Spike Growth just in front of the 6 golems.

I announce I'm going to hold off the big group, and let the rest take the other three.

The golems move 15 ft, (difficult terrain) and take 2d4 per 5 ft each. Next round they move 15 ft more taking 2d4 x3. The rest of the party is fighting hand to hand the three, take down one.

Next round I drop the spell, then cast Spike Growth right in front of them again. they move, take damage. The party takes down another of the golems on their side. Next round they move again, taking damage.

The party starts falling back into the hall. I then drop the spell again and recast it in front of the group. for another 30ft this time.

The party takes down the last on their side, mine move again and start falling from the damage. Only one made it to us and was taken out with one hit by the Ranger.

The DM had worried that this was going to nearly TPK us. We all had fun.
