The good news is that this is often just a phase. It goes like this —

1. Fine out about Bitcoin. See it as a “trade” like any other asset.

2. Try to find a shortcut by buying scamcoins, get rekt.

3. Become a true Bitcoiner, start stacking sats, become perhaps even a bit *too* bullish.

4. Enter Bitcoin purgatory. Put off enjoying life and working hard, listen to too many podcasts, wait for hyperbitcoinization deliverance

5. Realize waiting is a fool’s errand. Start working hard again, enjoying life, and simply save the fruits of your labor in cold hard sats.

You send your Bitcoins to a centralized entity to play a dangerous leverage game.

There is a double risk:

1. You get liquidated. High probability with such a volatile asset

2. Centralized entity fucks up and your Bitcoins are gone. History shows this is a EXTREMELY high probability

That’s basically leverage and very risky with such a volatile asset. Doing it on your own risk is fine if you like to, recommending it to others is irresponsible.

Furthermore no bank takes BTC as collateral, so you have to go the DeFi route which is a absolutely no-go. The risk of losing your whole collateral is quite high this way.

Or do I miss something? How do you borrow fiat against your Bitcoin?

Gold is an investment so having the price stay the same can be disastrous.

Bitcoin is not! Having the price stay the same just means you will not get that icing on the cake (financial profit), everything else is still useful.

I wish price remains at this level for some more months so I can stack en get closer to my goals

I’m converting my Apple stock to bitcoin. On a long enough timeline bitcoin absorbs value from every asset.

As someone like me who I'm sure has used Graphene/Calyx for a few years, most of this will not be new.

Some of the more extreme side of things was interesting to hear, bit something I'd never implement because I use my phone way more day to day than he does.

I did pick up a few good nuggets to research further though. Things like NextDNS.

I have some first generation AirPods that are almost dead. Looking to replace for another set of similar style.

ANC a nice to have but not a necessity. Aiming to spend <$200.

I'm currently on CalxyOS with an old Pixel, and consider getting a Pixel6/7 and switch to GrapheneOS.

From what I hear, you can have native Google Play Services but fully sandboxed. Same would be also useful to all necessary-evil fiat banking apps..

Curious what you think, and how simple it is to switch between the profiles. e.g. will you see notifications from one sandbox in another, or at least get notified that there is *a* notification waiting for you in another sandbox.

Also would be cool if different profiles could have different network connections (e.g. diff VPNs)..
