It's never too late friends. Buy some books, work on stuff at home if possible. Or make little projects.
Obviously it's not as simple as that, and there are many factors at play.
But I do believe it is never too late to make a change.

I am a recovering internet user so still slip up on consuming garbage on YT or something.
I'm working on trying to eliminate inefficiencies like those. Although I don't think watching a movie or playing a game once in a while is bad. I just think you should earn it.
