Hey nostr. Been a while 👋

Been suffering through a rough patch for quite a while now– but felt the need to pop in to say that Bitcoin, and by extension Bitcoiners, and Nostriches are some of the few things that still give me hope and positivity to hang on to.

Honestly wish I knew more of you in the ‘real world’ cause I could use some of that positivity in meatspace right now. Feeling surrounded and suffocated by fiat-minded people all around me. Lots of ‘friends’ have shown their true nature lately… but a select few others have come out to lend a hand right when it matters most.

Just want to say thanks for giving me some belief that things can still get better. 🤝 Keep building.

Etter en del problemer med å drifte en node på en raspberry pi, så har jeg endelig fått oppgradert en gammel pc med mer minne og større harddisk. Installerte software fra Start9 på den og det ser ut til å funke supert. 💪

Anbefaler redundant lagring. Bruk ZFS eller Btrfs :)

I developed a mobile app for a work related event and snuck in support for LNURLs. People ended up discovering the Easter egg, downloaded a Lightning wallet app and sent sats back and forth to each other. Good fun!

Anal OS is Solana backwards. Go figure.

Imagine an app not being offered via any App Store but simply as a direct download (the way Windows , Linux and macOS still offer today).

Apps still have to run in a sandbox and are still bound by the security settings of your device.

maybe umbrel is becoming a whole-ass distro that *just werks*. that be really cool

I’d personally prefer if they stuck to doing the whole Lightning node thing very well instead of being a docker-compose based self-hosting solution. Containers do not really provide and significant security and you’re effectively mixing your Lightning node onchain keys with all the other web services you choose to run on the thing.
