I could see watch but stream?

Zap.stream is pretty cool but we have no way of letting users sign up to the platform now which is a huge barrier.

Besides creating an account, there’s really no easy way for people to acquire sats to support creators.

To me, these 2 seem the bigger barriers atm. If we can solve both and make it an effortless process, this website has a ton of potential.

For the signup flow, I don’t think it’s too difficult. We ask for a name and we’re done. Thanks Iris! (The rest of the education can happen on the back end).

For hooking up a wallet and funding it - that’s the real challenge. 

Where do we stand on this?

1. Install cash app

2. Send fiat to cash app

3. Buy bitcoin

4. Install WoS (the only one as far as I know that will do a swap to sats for you)

5. Scan QR code to pay

Kind of a tedious process. I doubt people are going to jump hoops to do all of this at scale. Maybe some, sure, but the vast majority are likely going to NOPE! out.

When an event is posted to relays. Anyone that operates the relay or can read from the relay can receive those events and make determinations noted, even though they can't decrypt the contents.

Think of the DM as the letter inside an envelope that is addressed to received, has a sender, postage stamp is marked. Anyone can see the envelope but can't see the message.

What if instead of only allow people to use a private key for login / registration, we had a Sign Up / sign in with Google and upon doing that, a key pair is generated for you and emailed to address. You would still have a nostr npub / nsec, but it would automatically back up for you. The user recognizes the social login, and it’s easier to populate information from that option. It would be like a hybrid mode where you keep the old sign up process but on the front end it’s all nostr. Perhaps then you could use that connection to integrate with other traditional services, perhaps with a database attached. So it would be like nostr, but with a benefit of a light database for some efficiency and integrations with minimal info collected.

Dumb idea? Defeats the entire purpose? Thoughts?
