In my neighborhood people are allowing Butterfly Milkweed to thrive in their yards. Did you know that butterfly milkweed is the only plant which Monarch Butterfly caterpillars (however you properly describe them) can survive on? Butterfly Milkweed gives them the poison they need to fend off predators. Gardeners everywhere need to plant these unique native plants! One benefit of these native plants is that they don't require any maintenance. They did just fine before we were around to coddle them #seedexchange #nativeplants

A great lightbulb moment was realizing that the fiat system is built around sharing its equivalent to private keys for every single non cash purchase.

The numbers on the bottom of a check? Everything someone needs to clean out your checking account. There is no way to use a check without giving them out.

Hand a cashier your credit card? You realize they have the power to charge any number to that card right?

The only reason that the current fiat system doesn't seem completely laughable is because we all grew up fully indoctrinated in it.

This was Houdini. He was a sweet tomcat we found as a teeny tiny kitten. He almost died from Bobcat Fever as a kitten and grew into the most loving outdoor cat I ever knew. Fought raccoons and just wanted to be pet & loved. I miss him every day #catstr

I feel people that just buy tiny amounts of #bitcoin get stuck in wanting to see Number Go Up.

But then you go deeper into the rabbit hole and start to want Number Go Down because you want more sats for your dollar

You're not crazy. I want to do something like this too, if you see what they put in the water and the food. And how unstable the electricity grid is. Cooling always seemed like the easiest issue to me because when it's hot, the sun shines and you can easily generate electricity.

Now if you could figure out how to use the low grade heat generated by ASICS to supply heat needed for absorption AC or chiller units that’s a game changer. Less power draw than a full AC unit & now you’re using what would end up being wasted energy.

If people can use ASICS to heat their water I don’t see why this wouldn’t be possible

There’s a lot of power required for AC.

If you’re ok with an in house temp in the 80s you’re fine but I don’t recommend it.

But i live near inland swamps in a subtropical climate.

how far self sufficient?

Rain water collection, depending on area and design you can use biogas for heating water/indoor heating through radiant floor heating. Solar w/ battery for power to lights. Propane for stove oven.

Half acre good plot for produce. Chicken coop and goats for meat eggs milk cheese.

Now you have products you can sell if income is needed.

Cooling will be your biggest issue depending on location.

Have a well or on property.

Internet over satellite is possible now and usable vs 10 years ago.

Fountain is a great way to get onboarded to Bitcoin, I use it to get students involved. The inbuilt lightning wallet makes super easy.

I recommend it to some coworkers who listen to podcasts all day.

If shows they like are on fountain why not stack some sats for something you were already gonna do.
