Lol, thought this was actually PBS. Was like "viewers like me" are getting based!
Reminds me of the beginning of the pandemic, the government said not to wear masks. Thats when I did. When they told me to start wearing one, I felt the sudden urge to stop, Idunno.
Why couldn't the Nostr user get into the restaurant?
Because "We are So Early" the restaurant wasn't open yet.
🙃
Yeah, that's definitely something #[2]
Yesss you're Darthcoin from Stacker News, right? Welcome to Nostr!
And followed back!

Presidents day origin story:
Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, the holiday became popularly known as Presidents' Day after it was moved as part of 1971's Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation's workers. It was called Presidents Day to Honor not only Washington's Birthday on the 22nd, but also Lincoln's Birthday on the 12th.
Uniform Monday Holiday Act for more three-day weekends for the nation's workers?
Sounds socialist.
Another wtf happened I'm 1971, I guess.
I did a post on Twitter asking people who still hold XRP to dump it, instead of funding CBDCs, but there's no chance anyone here has any.
The USgov hates RippleLabs, but XRP holders are funding this kind of thing, and some dictatorship somewhere might actually do this kinda thing. Imagine this being a selling point...
Interesting to see how "Bitcoin Fixes This" is setting up to solve other tech problems the Web3 space is failing to solve. Nostr, Synonym, 'Web 5', Zion, TBD, Impervious, Keet and Holepunch all range in how much they interact with Bitcoin. Although Keet doesn't interact with Bitcoin at all, without Bitcoin, the project wouldn't be funded.
Saw a few posts recently suggesting that Bitcoin causes people to do buy Bitcoin and then do nothing, getting rich without doing anything. Hard Disagree.
It will be truly interesting to see how these systems interact. A content creator on Nostr gets a certain amount of LN tips so starts a livestream "spaces" not from a central server, but using Keet instead. Or perhaps if a new relay wanted to backup files from other relays, they could receive the files via Keet as well. (Sorry both examples involve Keet and Nostr, that's where most of my experience is at the moment, I need to dive into the other things still.)
A funny thing about building a world around an internet-native digital currency is that eventually the flaws of the internet start to impede your progress. That's why I think these projects are so important. Let's add more tools to the belt of freedom.
Welcome Seth! For Android I really like Amethyst and Iris. Nostrgram is pretty good too, for a Instragram type layout.
Iris and Nostrgram are available as both web-browser things and apps. If you use the web browser, I recommend either alby or nos2x . I use nos2x (nos2x is a browser extension that holds your keys and lets you authorize a website to use it instead of copy-pasting every time) which works with Kiwi (a non-evil chromium browser so takes chrome extensions)
Yeah, if you use a web browser, use an extension. Thats really my only advice.
...and nsec is the secret one!
Apple is way worse of a situation. Through their app store is only way of getting anything.
I hear the Start9 guys have made a relay that works with their operating system! Gonna grab a used computer soon for that.
I can imagine eventually becoming a nostr maximalist and trying to warn users about how their VC-backed social media platform isn't decentralized.
Wow! Nostrgram looks great! Checking out the web version, gonna download the app. I like how when you click zaps there are several preset amounts of sats. Smart. SN does that.
I feel like someone should do an Android mobile app client with a built in LN wallet. That would make one click tips possible.
(SN does a thing where one click is a standard amount, a long click does a menu of presets or custom)
If an app had a built-in custodial wallet, I could keep
-Most funds w/ hardware wallet/on steel
-Some funds on warm onchain phone wallet
-Small amount on noncustodial LN (Phoenix)
-$5 or less at a time on custodial LN for Nostr fun-fun.
Yeah, its the reason why i switched to WoS for LN (custodial anyway) then i got Samourai for onchain which is way better.
#[0] entirely possible with the inscriptions craze the mempools don't clear until next year. People still buy opensea nfts, and thats been dead. This is just starting. That bet is yours.
