This is unacceptable. We already went through this in the 90s with cryptography wars.

Code is speech, what someone else does with your code does not make you a criminal.

Privacy is not a crime. No one should be afraid to better their own privacy. Money was private by default until the 80s.

Most importantly we stand with samurai devs, regardless of our differences. Developers are not criminals just because of public usage any more than a knife manufacturer is responsible for murder.

Completely agree, it’s why I’ve avoided all other social media as a fairly privacy conscious person.

No criticisms from me, love your guys motivation and I still may give it a try. Just can’t help feel Nostr offers unique benefits, a lot of the public avoids app subscriptions like a plague, even if it’s in their best interest.

I’d love to have a #nostr equivalent of something like “meetup”

I had this idea while looking for a local #bitcoin #halving party, it seemed like the orange pill app was the best way to find people. However I didn’t realize they require a subscription.

Not sure how to implement this, I’m no engineer. My current thinking is some kind of locality relay, or maybe “rooms” you can join and get updates about that area/topic/event without revealing members ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Using it on pi4. Upgrade was super smooth no need to reconfigure anything. I’m quite impressed

Upgraded my node today to umbrel 1.0, very impressive.

I use an rpi for my node so the upgrade had a few extra steps but it was flawless.

I honestly expected I’d need to reconfigure something with a complete rebuild, remote connections or settings etc. But I ended up with my node exactly as it was before.

What are the chances we can get a simple #bitcoin bill pay service going?

From what I can find Bitrefill gave it a shot for a while, and BitPay has an option currently but not sure how trustworthy they are these days.

Enabling credit card bills and maybe mortgages would be a nice stepping stone to convince people to save in bitcoin, while still living with and spending their national currency.
