The US Treasury has proposed a rule so broad that it would effectively make sending a #Bitcoin transaction illegal.

After a 90 day comment period, this rule will likely become active. The kicker is they don't even need Congress to pass a new law. They are using a specific section of the Patriot Act to take more of your freedoms.

What is one to do?

Do you sell all your Bitcoin and accept fiat slavery?

Do you try to obfuscate your KYC stack to give you more plausible deniability?

I'm not sure what the right answer is exactly, but I do know you should be thinking deeply about this now. You don't want to look back 90 days from now and wish you took some kind of action that would put you in a better place after this rule is in effect.

So I encourage you all to take time to figure out this problem. Figure out what you're going to do.

Because they're done laughing at us. Now, they're fighting us. And you know what happens next.

I can take or leave coffee. I didn't start drinking it until my 30's and although I enjoy a good heavy cream latte I can go without for days with no noticeable effects

But yeah 2 glasses with a meal is pretty moderate. If that much is leaving you with side effects I can understand why you'd want to give it up entirely

nah, it was ok in that i didn't have my busted tooth go apeshit but this afternoon i'm extra sensitive to the cold and irritable and this is the only thing that is different between yesterday and all of the last 2 weeks.

you also probably drink coffee, or even energy drinks. those also have gone out the window for me now 3 weeks. half a teaspoon of instant coffee the day before yesterday made evening suck.

Yup. So then what’s the play when we see EO6102 events or regs that prevent hold keys in qualified accounts (similar to PMs) or _____? They’re going to try to force everyone into their bolshevik banking cartel approved custodians or else. Do folks really think you’re going to have a parallel black market economy with their non-KYC stack? That seems naive. It will be pretty easy for the man to programmatically hunt and kill in the era of AI and 8k fresh IRS agents. So it seems like one either needs a side pot or a trusted custodian with a shared worldview or be faced with leaving the country or achieving second passport with a way to repatriate offshore investment earnings (assumes min level of wealth) or some other hack that I’m not smart enough to figure out yet. Or we continue to slug it out earning fiat till the inevitable rise of BTC and the USofA sees the orange light… that ain’t gonna happen until after a lot a lot a pain (GDII, war, famine, CBDC, etc).
