you can connect to sockets over tor, it's just very very very slow 😝 and nostr is a firehose, it sends way too much data. if you have a lot of relays, it's even worse
this is a good starter one
please use a VPN when using nostr. actually, you should really be using a VPN all the time, no reason not to (even banks and stuff now have been more lenient with them)
if you're an apple user, apple literally provides a free one (iCloud Private Relay) that is actually quite good. it's not technically a VPN but it does mask the IP -> site visit mapping
#[0] hello
what if you needed emergency cash, and needed to sell some btc. is this easy in JP? is it highly liquid?
to my followers in JP:
what does lightning adoption look like there?
a) do many merchants accept lightning in big cities?
b) is it easy to convert back and forth between JPY and BTC?
i really wish more merchants accepted lightning. I need it like, tomorrow 😞
i will be patient, though 😊
no time for liking, we get straight to zapping
a lot of paid relays will say you already signed up once you put in your npub and try to create invoice
mine is Damus too, but i'm on the beta version of it. you can use a few others, like snort.social or iris.to on web
another W for nostr.wine team
it has a zap button on posts for me. also, since i'm on the beta (test flight), it also shows i zapped you on your post!
depends on the client, but if you're using damus there is a "bitcoin lightning tips" field
yeah but i would have to understand. even i had a shitcoin phase 😞
yep! open WOS, go to receive, get your lightning address (the one that looks like username@walletofsatoshi.com), edit your nostr profile on whatever client, paste that and save, and done!
