Ok. So I am thinking in the right direction!

WE ARE THE RESISTANCE

Mass adoption is just a buzzword. Mere numbers are not the goal. We seek a fundamental shift in consciousness and a rejection of the broken systems that have failed us.

Sure, we need new people, but what we don't need is a brainless copy of the broken social, economic, and cultural models. All models are broken. Be ready to start from scratch. Accept the fact that you are technically illiterate, and you have to learn new protocols moving forward.

This shouldn't be a new plug-and-play model because we've seen how mentally lazy that has made the whole society. We will not settle for superficial changes or mere repackaging of the old ways.

I met with Palestine 🇵🇸 activists in Poland last night and I think for them the most logical thing is to get circular sats value4valued going, both to support those creating value but also to simply sent sats to people in Gaza....that could apply to people struggling with dictatorship regimes around the globe..opt out of centralized mass media and move where your resistance is factual. Am I thinking right here?

nostr is still mainly used alongside twitter. in the best rare case, as a replacement. and only because people are running away from something about twitter they don't like.

there is nothing that people want to run to nostr for yet. zaps were promising, but bitcoin is still a hurdle (one that primal is doing the best at overcoming), and it's doubtful lightning could scale to a massive adoption moment.

nostr needs a feature or experience that's unique and sets it apart. i *think* that is the ecosystem of microapps over the long term...but it's definitely not in the short term. and that might be ok.

for twitter the initial draw was the simplicity and weirdness of 140 characters (we started with zero network effect, facebook had it all...that's built over time). later it became the conversation which lead to the "public square" (owned by a private corporation ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). and then as it grew, it had a single point of control/failure people could attack.

nostr doesn't have to worry about that last bit. it's an incredible feature. but not one the average person cares about (no matter how much they yell "FREE SPEECH!"...if people actually cared about free speech, bitcoin and nostr would be all they used...they don't).

all this to say, we're not doomed. but what we think is the killer feature isn't right now. who's going to discover the one that is?

Cuba es un caso único y complejo, la dictadura que ostenta el récord de ser la más extensa en el continente.

Este régimen despierta tanto adoración como repulsión. Para entender verdaderamente el comunismo, su versión real y aplicable, no hay mejor lugar que Cuba. En lo personal, me resulta asombroso recordar cómo mis padres lograban subsistir el mes en una situación económica que, incluso entonces, era más favorable que la actual.

Hace dos años, mi predicción más atrevida, en un contexto en el que el dólar apenas alcanzaba los 100 pesos locales, mientras que hoy un dólar equivale a 345 pesos, en un panorama económico en reordenamiento, afirmé que el actual gobierno comunista no podría sostenerse por más de una década. Aunque esta idea causó cierta hilaridad en su momento, refleja una creencia arraigada que ha estado presente desde 1959, la clásica frase en Cuba es: ”esto no hay quien lo arregle pero tampoco quien lo tumbe”, y que, a día de hoy, sigue vigente.

La situación actual en Cuba se deteriora cada vez más: una inflación acumulada superior al 1000% desde el reajuste económico, apagones eléctricos de hasta 15 horas, una alta dependencia de la importación, el aumento de la criminalidad y la drogadicción, la sensación de inseguridad en las calles, la disminución del turismo y la pérdida de apoyo internacional. Las protestas, antes impensables, ahora son frecuentes y requieren la intervención policial, mientras la población muestra un rechazo cada vez más evidente hacia el Partido Comunista de Cuba.

En mi perspectiva, el gobierno tiene tres opciones para mantener su posición en el poder. La primera, convertirse en una Corea del Norte, incrementando la represión y la crueldad hacia la disidencia. Sin embargo, este escenario parece poco plausible, ya que las nuevas generaciones, influenciadas por el acceso an internet y un trabajo constante del exilio, no están dispuestas a aceptar una dictadura más opresiva.

La segunda alternativa sería imitar el modelo chino, permitiendo ciertas libertades controladas por el Estado, pero la falta de infraestructura y tecnología en Cuba hace que esta opción sea poco viable.

La tercera y más probable, en mi opinión, sería seguir el camino de Rusia: una élite económica leal al gobierno, con ciertas libertades económicas por encima de la población, y una oposición controlada que responde al Partido Comunista (existe y está en Miami, gracias a las fronteras abiertas de Biden y las políticas migratorias). Esta oposición controlada es el camino más probable que veo para Cuba, una nueva izquierda progresista que tomará la caída de un ya destronado Partido Comunista como su medalla u su mérito para ganar apoyo

Mientras tanto, el otro lado de la oposición en Cuba, enfrentando problemas de desorganización y excesos ideológicos, no es más que una versión del sistema actual solo que de derecha política, una nueva dictadura al más puro estilo Pinochet en caso de lograr tomar el poder.

El panorama cubano se presenta desolador, y para algunos, la mejor salida podría ser una eventual anexión a Estados Unidos, aunque la voluntad política de este último para llevar a cabo tal acción es dudosa.
