Politics divides. Trade brings people together. Destroy political power & set trade free.

If someone built an amazing public space to serve a particular purpose & others came in & took shits on the sidewalks & graffitied everything would you say you were all for people doing that?

I don't think it's wrong for the people who can be honest about the nature of the scams being perpetrated to work toward cleaning those things up in a voluntary way.

Profit isn't a dirty word.

Liquid is just a sidechain, anyone can do the same thing. Having a place for a lot of the institutional trash to trade & do business without taking over the main chain is actually a good thing.

Better & more decentralized sidechains will be built.

I don't think there are masterminds reseting society every few hundred or every couple thousand years, there are just cycles of people figuring out how to be prosperous & trade with each other, followed by hubris which leads to centralization & collapse. Yes there is evidence of prosperous cities prior to what we were generally taught in school, but that doesn't really change anything about how hard life can be, what we should be grateful for, or the roots of common words & phrases still in use today.

I have a copy of a memoir from a familiy member talking about rural life just 100 or so years ago & there wasn't anything easy sounding about it. People who romanticize the past are mostly retarded. What's interesting IMO is the origins of words & phrases that are still in use today even though the reasons for their origins have kinda been lost.

Salary - payment in salt

Shelling out - handing over lots of wampum due to inflation in supply

Ragging on someone (picking on them) - a reference to a woman being "on the rag" prior to the invention of tampons

OMG! More than 2x playback speed on videos! I have wanted this for so long ❤

Not sure about all of these, but it's interesting.

Anyone have suggestions for better mobile browsers for android? I have been using Brave, but it has some typing bugs that are driving me crazy. I think it might be a Chromium problem though, so another fork might just do the same thing...?

I always have quite a few tabs open, & I like for the browser to open with everything I left open. I also have lots of bookmarks I would like to import, but that's not as much of a concern.

Alcoholism may in fact be Kentucky, never been there, but that doesn't sound wrong.

Yeah, he's being sarcastic. Elon made it funny by pretending he was serious.

As an American, if I put cottage cheese on a baked potato & dribble some steak juice & bacon grease on there, that's basically poutine, right?

Something that grinds my gears:

"I'm [insert unhealthy behavior] because I'm [insert cultural or racial group here]"

No bitch, you lack self control, & probably grew up around people who lacked self control, & instead of fixing the problem (which is hard) you decided to make it part of your identity in a rather stupid & racist fashion.

Money saved = stuff produced.

A millionaire (assuming the person is not a political parasite) is someone who has created much more than a million dollars in value for others. Earning & saving is what feeds & clothes people, not what starves them. Printing money starves people.

It's an entertaining timeline.

It's a good movie. Tried to get Larken to set up a Lightning wallet because he was only accepting Bitcoin via onchain payments last I checked. But payment issues aside, I really enjoyed the movie.

Was the same stuff in 1997 too (& the 2000s) & it was always gross. I genuinely thought everything served in all the cafeterias at all the schools I ever attended looked & smelled like vomit. I brought my own lunch every day of school for all 13 years & ate outside of the lunchroom whenever possible. Never understood how people could eat the cafeteria food. Just smelling it was bad enough IMO.
