Politics divides. Trade brings people together. Destroy political power & set trade free.

Protect your kids from people who want to undermine the most basic aspects of reality.

It is impossible protect individual rights by violating them. Which means voluntary funding is a prerequisite to any honest security organization.

The thing that distinguishes a govt from any business or charity IS forced funding. There is no concern over whether "customers" are satisfied if you get their money whether you serve them or not. This is why a cop can shoot your dog with no need to worry about his job security.

The only thing that really keeps any organization honest is the threat that comes from the withdrawal of financial support. If an org is voluntarily funded, then the better they satisfy customers, the more money they make.

An organization funded by force creates an inverted morality where every employee of said organization can only advance their career by finding new ways to force more out of everyone around them.

And a force funded org will always grow. If people have no ability to refuse to pay, then they cannot prevent the growth. That growth will evenutally corrupt all other orgs by using money extracted by force (or printed at the expense of everyone) to support businesses & other orgs that most didn't want to support.

Govt which is by definition a financially unchecked organization, removes the natural market checks on all other orgs, & slowly corrupts everything, from the business of serving people, to the business of enslaving them.

The deaths of the innocent is always the fault of the people doing the killing. This is always true of all sides of any war, & it's why there is no such thing as a "just war."

The US literally requied car owners to have people holding flags walk in front of the cars. There is no limit to the level of stupidity they will sink to in the face of a new tech that threatens existing power structures.

Mixing up "then" & "than" is worse than your & you're, or their, they're & there

Honestly, it sounds like you don't really have an answer.

I think tattoos are basically a costly form of self harm. I think the health risks & the fact that it is literally a bunch of repeated stabbings makes that position a pretty solid one.

That said, there are arguably all sorts of activities that might constitute forms of self harm, or that at least fall into some sort of risky behavior category. And maybe some of those activities are the sort of things that make life worth living. Idk. Value is subjective, if you think tattoos are a good way to spend money then that's fine. The original post was basically just me talking shit.

They are natural parts of us, but if you're angry or disgusted or sad more often than you are not those things, then there is a good chance that isn't healthy.

People are often angry when some part of their personality is trying to protect another part of themselves that has been hurt in some way. Directing anger at people or things can be a way to avoid dealing with some aspect of reality (related or not), & avoiding reality is a coping mechanism that can be pretty destructive long term. The only way to heal is to accept reality & ask the angry part of you to step back so that the hurt part can be experienced, observed, & addressed.

Yeah, I read somewhere to pick something & put it on your mirror. Look at it every day for at least a year, if you still like it then maybe...

And I can think of a few things that I wouldn't hate to have on me in some permanent fashion (maybe), but the idea of paying lots of money & dealing with hours & potentially weeks of repeated pain & discomfort for it, plus the risk of infection or allergic reactions, just pushes the whole idea off the table for me.

I'd rather throw money at massages or chiro visits or something.

Be who you are & improve what you don't like. Have realistic expectations & then do what you need to do in order to be the sort of person you can respect.

The whole self acceptance thing is an important first step, because you can't improve if you don't know where you are & what needs to improve.

But a lot of people seem to screw it up by trying to pretend their flaws are something to celebrate. Identifying with your flaws is arguably worse than being blind to them.

Was basically just a shit post. I mean, I don't have or want tattoos so of course they are a poor use of money to ME, my actions already demonstrate my preferences. But I don't actually care. I have lots of friends with tattoos & have had girlfriends with tattoos.

I would prefer to just draw or paint something
