Morning! It was a long, long time ago. One of the things I remember well was the daily blackouts, bombings and road blocks organised by the Sendero Luminoso (‘Shining Path’), a Maoist guerrilla very active in Peru at the time. Crazy times to visit the country

I remember listening to The Top, it was their first “happier” album after the trilogy Seventeen Seconds, Faith and Pornography. I was thinking, whoa, where are the gloomy songs? Haha, still awesome, though.
I got into The Cure when I was 12 as well. Lots of their songs were playing on the radio at the time, like Close To Me and Inbetween Days. I through Robert Smith was the coolest human being alive 🙂
The Cure was my first obsession, long time ago. One of the first albums I bought was the compilation “Standing on a Beach/Staring at the Sea”—which opens with a song based on one of my favourite books, Camus’s The Stranger
