Dad and kids.

...I didn't think so initially, either. But it runs perfectly fine, just looks a mess. Hood's a bit bent, same with front quarter panel. Headlight's out, wiring lost and one fog light.

A lot, evidently. It drives fine...yet the body shop came back with ~$11k to repair it all. (And they're a good shop I've used before.)

Just a point about language--'native' refers to place or origin or way or perhaps source of birth. Natal, Nativity, Nation... it can be a people or a place, though those things often go together.

For my part, I was born in Maine; so was my father, and so was his father, and so were two (or three) generations prior. I am native to this country.

In the pre-mil, pre-trib, dispensationalist, circles I used to run in, a huge mystery surrounded the identity of 'Gog and Magog' - given Ez. 38 and Rev 20.

Interesting second paragraph here:

The 'conversion' he refers to is that of the entire Khazarian empire [at least officially] to Judaism in about 740 A.D.

There's something so...human...about it. Beauty-broken-repaired...chosen peace.

For some reason I'm thinking of how in glory, our bodies and souls will be perfect--yet Christ will bear the marks (that paid for our glory) forever.

For a while, I think... this nostr:nprofile1qyvhwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtn2d4hk7um99eex7cmtwvhsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wghxyctwvshsqgq9ju39nmrg86vy8nsjltnvahdqdejsvt8mq9renc4t654jjv46uczfwmq0 account will be a celebration of the shadows in life. Highlighting the fragility, the tragedy, the sweet bitterness I, and perhaps we, have experienced.

I will share the imagery (though I have no minds eye... I am an aphantasiac) of my youth, my current state and all that is in between.

But still acknowledging the place of the shadow. The value of the rust. The beauty of twilight. The tension of ambiguity. The virtue of not knowing.

And the peace in the gaps.

I hope you and I both benefit from it.

Love,

M0053

I'd missed this note, but--bring it. 💪

Beautiful moment. Beautifully expressed. Thank you.

That'd be swell

A "pretty OK" recently-written book on it:

Robert McKenzie, [Identifying the Seed: An Examination and Evaluation of the Differences between Dispensationalism and Covenant Theology](https://a.co/d/76C9Lxc)

Best thing to read "contra" it would be, in my opinion, -- Paul's Epistles. Especially Galatians.

The two main tenets of Dispensationalism, in my view, are:

1. There are two peoples of God (ethnic Jews and Gentile Christians), with different destinies, purposes, and (in some flavors) different Messiahs

2. An 'overly literal' way of reading Scripture, particularly the prophetic books

Oversimplification, but those are the main things.

nostr:npub1kun5628raxpm7usdkj62z2337hr77f3ryrg9cf0vjpyf4jvk9r9smv3lhe - good point. It was also very well-funded. But we probably don't need to go there in today's climate (iykyk).

TIL that Grizzly Adams was played by Robert Redford. How did I not know this?

RIP. One of the greats.

The handle had broken off; the thin gold line is where it was reattached.

I'm really bad at it, had a couple of fails, but this one turned out pretty OK... 😅

Absolutely. The "anti-censorship" argument is simply the attack vector.
