Fantastic customizable launcher, indeed πŸ€™ Exactly, you can turn your phone into a dumb phone with this one really well.

A family lived at this spot for more than 20 years. We ourselves live in a similarly remote place off grid for a couple of years now ... and I personally enjoy it thoroughly. Very romantic all around, haha. It feels real.

Challenges are water, being more exposed to harsh weather conditions, having to maintain and repair things yourself, the time investment that comes with it, being responsible for your own health. But with the right mindset all these challenges are rewarding at the same time. They make me understand the real meaning of freedom. I think if more people lived and shared a similar life, it wouldn't have the taint of living "away from society" anymore. Instead we can realize that such a nature connected life actually IS society as well. A healthy one.

Another device I came across to harvest drinkable water from the atmosphere and that's already available, proven and tested is from this company "Source Global". For around US$ 8'000 it can get you 7.5 litres per day, independently, without any additional power input.

For surviving way off grid this is pretty incredible already! But it won't serve all your household and garden water needs on your dry land.

It is. A recharge and calm down to the depth of your being spot. A hidden valley. Our group of friends there, we became more and more human by the hour. Now, ready to rock the week 🌿

Breathe in that freedom 🀩 On a friend's off grid farm for the weekend.

Yes, that's what we are doing.

I like that you see Bitcoin can bring humanity together under a new banner. Bitcoin can make the nation state model at least less significant. Usually it's the end of a big war or catastrophe that unites humanity. Bitcoin is a welcome peaceful change to that pattern πŸ˜‰

The origin's probably Greek where it's ''Ο†ΟŽΞΊΞΉΞ±" - "fokia" ... motherfokia πŸ˜„

Romans and Greeks put a lot of importance on public baths. We people today underestimate the purifying and healing quality of natural water on a societal level.

The autumn storms got our tiny home firmly in their grip ... for days now. Even tore apart our extra protected bell tent!

Sooo, what to do, we lit our first fire for the season 😁 https://video.nostr.build/94e9a18cfb1680a1478d9ffa75d69e2aa8ce473229a69636ef68bb3a848eee4f.mp4

It's so good and impressive how all you cryptoanarchists react to Saylor's latest musings on podcasts ... undazzled,, optimistic and with humour. Very telling πŸ€™πŸ§‘

Nice idea, love low tech πŸ™ Yes, I thought about the distilling method, too. Got stuck with the thought of the original power input though: Carry the seawater, create a safe heat source (no open fires in the summer), and a lot of diy tinkering πŸ˜‰ The turbine could reclaim some of the power. But I think at this point it'd be max worth the effort for producing drinking water not everyday use water.

We are facing difficult weather conditions in the southern Peloponnese this year. Mostly because it hasn't rained properly since March. Now the first winter storms already started, and the wind is ripping through a very dry landscape and vegetation.

Since we are living off grid we feel the environmental changes immediately. One of our natural springs closeby we rely on for water supply has already run dry for this year, making things a little tough. It makes us ponder and look for alternatives.

There are some promising developments in the area of generating water from humidity in the air. But they are still costly for individual use and require quite some energy input.

So, I was surprised to find this little device here - 'Quenchsea'. It can turn sea water to fresh water through reverse osmosis, just by your very own manpower and is actually affordable. It's nothing more than an emergency device, but cool nonetheless. Makes me dream of some extended wild cave camping adventure πŸ˜‰πŸŒŠ

Does anyone have experience with it already?

Good, thanks for the recommendation πŸ™

Yeah, it's astonishing to realize that we are so often subconsciously addicted to suffering. I also went into this deeply with Vipassana meditation.

It's particularly revealing in relationship patterns, that many people due to conditioning require an element of pain in relationships, for example rejection or some strong needy emotion, without which they believe it can't be love.

Perfect πŸ’ͺ

There's a known case for some people that cold plunges can create headaches. This is due to a sudden tightening of the vessels supplying blood to the brain.

However, related to the breathing exercise headaches are not a common thing of concern. With the breathing exercise you increase and enrich your bloodlow and the circulation reaches areas of your body which under usual circumstances aren't properly nourished with oxygen, also in the brain. This also cleans up and initially releases more toxins in the body. These could result into headaches.

Especially if you have only recently started your exercises or intensified them, I'd recommend to drink more water to flush out the toxins more easily.

I'll ask around and if I hear of something else related to headaches and breathing, I'll let you know πŸ€™

Yes, fascinating to explore this, isn't it?

On the bright side, we can produce dopamine from within ourselves with healthy non-addictive practices, such as cold plunging and breathwork.

When practicing the Wim Hof method you're obviously not addicted to pain πŸ˜„ But you learn how to manage it and even how to turn it into energy (cori cycle).

Fantastic! Now stop dreaming about fantasy like pictures on social media ... BE it in real life 🌿 One with nature.

Yeah, strong determination & you'll do it! I started off seriously on that path with Vipassana meditation (Gotama Buddha type, as taught by S.N. Goenka). It explores exactly that link between stimulus and reaction ... body sensations.
