I didn't, but now I have something to explore later when I'm back home. That's pretty cool that there's just this interface for blogging built into the network. Been paying to self host Wordpress since the beginning of the year, and it's been a little bit costly
Yeah, there are some good parts about Bluesky, but a lot of things I don't like about it
Ditto has free AWS hosting built-in? Holy crap ... man, just imagine if Mastodon had free AWS built-in lol
Yeah, I'd say I'm a fan now. I still have a lot of exploring to do, more things to figure out (like finding more people to follow who talk about things that I'm interested in), but all-in-all I think I can say some of my initial impressions were misguided, even if there are still some worries I have. It'll take me a while to decide how much of a fan I am. So far, being on here a few days has been more eventful than me being on Mastodon for 7 years. So we'll see where it goes. I think my next hurdle is buying a new domain, and hosting my own copy of ditto
Think I'll write my next article on Bluesky, how it appears to have ripped ideas straight from Nostr, and why it'll always be a failed platform
Ditto looks surprisingly easy to install and get running, but I wonder how resource intensive it is. I've been using Digital Ocean for a long time, and it looks like something that could easily run on a VPS I currently have #ditto
#Ditto 1.1 has been released!
This version comes with many performance improvements and bug fixes, as well as Prometheus metrics.
Next up: a custom relay pool with outbox support.

Thanks to everyone who has been using Ditto and giving feedback!
Hey, are you guys aware the ditto.pub link on your main page has an error in it? Link goes to ditto/pub instead of ditto.pub
what nostradomus i'm tired as frikken heck
Sorry I meant to reply to this 10 hours ago haha but yeah, I wrote that article, and then I came back and saw my own account here in the trending accounts list which blew me away. So I decided to stick around. I can't say that I'm 100% sold yet (because the public key being basically an extractin point for anyone who wants to see what's in my notifications), but I feel there is a lot of worth based on versatility and content alone. Can Nostr expand into something that's millions of users strong? Hopefully
I notice sometimes when I'm hitting the "radical dude" button it either doesn't work, but then appears to have worked after a refresh, or it'll act like I already did it and take a radical dude away until I click it again
I just recently uploaded a bunch of stuff there, looks to me like you can only upload and then accept sats for people who want your work
Dang youtube trying to track stuff all the time
What this guy (LA Beast) does to grilled cheese sandwiches in this video is both sad and also inspiring
may the grilled cheese be with you
At first I thought the snipers in the video were the ones making the attempt, but now I see they're returning fire at whoever's off-screen
I got sidetracked by my thoughts and left my Zenless Zone Zero people in an endless paused conversation lol whups
The reporting on this assassination attempt has been all over the place, but I think I have all the pieces now. Trump was shot at, got hit in the ear, and then a spectator in the crowd unfortunately got killed. Completely nuts. In a time when we need to come together as a society, break down these walls that the media and corporate social media has built around us, mostly entirely for financial and political gain, we have actual violence and murder (if my assumptions are correct and the shooter in fact hit and killed a bystander in the crowd).
It goes without saying, that if you're looking to change things in this country, or if you want to be heard for what you believe, or whatever it is you want to say, the internet and its many multitudes of platforms are far more powerful than bullets. Nobody loses their lives when you write your angry little rant on Twitter, or Threads, or Mastodon, or Nostr. And it's far more healthy to hash out your feelings with a keyboard, than to load up a weapon, and end someone's life in the flash of a second over things that, in the grand scheme, mean almost nothing.
Dark times we're living in, I think. I miss being a kid in the 90s with my Nintendo 64, sometimes, a hell of a lot lol
I'm convinced people are being paid to say they're having fun playing The First Descendant
Game's gunplay feels like crap, and it also feels like a dollar store Destiny
I don’t know about anyone else but I enjoy not living in a war zone, and the fastest way to make it so we are is by stupidly shooting your political opponents
I don’t like either candidate, and I also don’t like war lol
