Isn't it a crazy coincidence this is happening at the exact same time as ULEZ is being expanded across the UK... almost as if there is some higher agenda at play... most vital detail here to me is only authorised vehicles will be permitted in or out. Literally a prison.
(ULEZ = fines for driving a car that isn't "eco friendly" enough.)
The implications of a fiat economy should be understood by all, because those implications are wide ranging and go deep.
I honestly think a lot of people, particularly self-labelled socialists, have a misguided view of capitalism because they've only ever participated in a fiat economy. This has been on my mind for a while.
Numbers don't lie: for most of history, capitalism lifted up the poor the most. In times of prosperity when everyone was employed and wages trended up, the once poor became the middle class, and the middle class became the nouveau riche.
But all that wealth was in gold, not paper.
It's only since the dominance of fiat money that this has changed.
Already a reality sadly. I remember right wing journalists and activists getting banned from entering the UK on the basis that their views "may cause harm" or some such bollocks.
It has a lot of unique security features and most are hardware dependant so don't slow your machine to a crawl - and any Intel or AMD CPU made in the last few years will be compatible, it mostly just needs hardware backed virtualization, that's been standard for a fair bit.
As usual there is a tradeoff between security and convenience though. In order for the security model to work you need to adopt your threat model to always use a separate VM for everything and don't accidentally use your social media VM for banking for example.
It's also got some pretty cool privacy stuff like Whonix is built in. That's pretty awesome, can make VMs that only connect via Tor.
Oh but I couldn't make it work with Windows. Although it technically does have W11 support, the TPM can't be found through the virtualization, and W11 has a requirement for a TPM 2.0 to be present. Microsoft patched up an old method of bypassing the check by creating registry keys in the installer.
So I just put Windows 11 back on that machine because it's just my cheap "travel laptop" mostly for media consumption and Windows is just convenient for that.
But I do really like Qubes security model. Might consider moving from Ubuntu when I finally get around to upgrading the M.2 SSD in my laptop. Need more storage and RAM too for that matter. 16GB ain't what it used to be.
I think AI killed the jpeg market.

New Cas 🔥🔥🔥
I should start doing Xanny Radio again.
As easy as this...
gpg --default-new-key-algo "ed448/cert,sign+cv448/encr" --quick-generate-key "Stack Sats

TIL the latest build of GnuPG let's you make a Cv448/Ed448 key 🤯
Latest version of Kleopatra is lacks the option to make one in the UX but once generated with gpg they show on the keyring. Encryption, decryption, and signing all work.
Won't export it to my Yubikey but I'd be more surprised if Yubikeys did support Ed448 lmao.
Glad the cryptography progress is moving. First relatively widely used software I've seen to use Ed448 curves in prod.

No port forwarding :(
You can pay with just a zap at IVPN.net too, can vouch for em 100%, but they also just dropped port forwarding.
Wrote this as a response to your note. Looks like it decided to post it as a regular note instead.
Here it is:
Puff puff pass

Setup your own VPS, run a multiplexer relay, set it to filter notes with keywords in it.
But honestly I don't get the Monero hate. It's an OG privacy coin, best privacy coin there is, ASIC resistant PoW algo, and it has been used almost exclusively on the DNMs for years, for years people have been trusting it with their freedom, and they still do it.
If LN could offer all the same level of privacy as XMR I'd agree with you mate. I hope one day it will.
Until then though it serves a purpose.
Often my flow is using Bitcoin as s store of value but my spending money is at least half XMR.
There's a very good (non-Bitcoin specific) documentary about exactly this. Goes into close detail about what fiat is and how unsustainable a fiat based economy fundamentally is.

TL;DR:

Oh I'm still Linux all the way for my primary daily drivers.
That's what I like in the W11 UX, it feels very Plasma inspired.
I'm thinking I'll move to Qubes for GOD TIER OPSEC so my base OS is super locked down FOSS, then I can use different instances of various distros and other OS's as needed, of course they're all sandboxed.
That way if there's anything I fuck up on one distro or get my W11 system infected or whatever, I can just wipe em and the sandbox keeps everything else safe.
