Perhaps it could also be very handy to have a spare Windows VM those "I work for Windows, we have detected 500 viruses let me remote into your computer" call centre scams or any of the new variations that keep popping up.

Feel free to steal the files "BITCOIN_WALLET" and "INTERNATIONAL BANK ACCOUNTS" on the desktop and run em on your machine connected on your "office" LAN. They're totally not Wannacry. Triple promise 😂

Just had a sick idea for a new setup.

Qubes with various VMs including Arch, Debian, Alpine, and even Windows 11 because a spare Windows install often still comes in handy.

Ofc different distros will be delegated to different functions as is the intentional threat model. Arch for playground, Debian (might use Kubuntu) for day to day stuff to "just work", Alpine to run lightweight LAN servers like Pi Hole and Jellyfin or even setup a fresh VM for each so I can forward ports to a to a specific VM, and Windows 11 for when a something works okay or better on Windows which is surprisingly still prevent (nowhere near as it was but still).

Preparing to get excommunicated from the FOSS Maxi Illuminati for this, but I just got a new company laptop with W11, liked the UX has a Plasma vibe, so flashed a USB with a W11 ISO, installed on a spare personal laptop.

Other than the installation process involving 100 million billion trillion "but are you sure you don't want us to spy on you tho?" messages and still requiring a workaround to make a local user without a Microsoft Account, it is smooth and I'm pleasantly surprised by how snappy it is on a couple years old midrange laptop.

I couldn't ever use it as a daily driver because lol Microsoft. And there's still some "telemetry" you can't disable fully without using a modded ISO and hoping a future update doesn't just put it back.

It also has ads on the start menu if you leave the default settings in place. And by default it has a keylogger on.

Can anyone recommend any (preferably FOSS) software that creates custom W11 ISOs to your own specifications (uninstall preloaded apps, add some of your own, your settings as default, etc etc...)

The ones I'm aware of are mostly proprietary and aimed at enterprise.

The new Amethyst build has Amber support? 👀

I'm going to stick on my tinfoil hat here and suggest that Brand was allowed by his handlers to the "face" of the truth movement, just so they could take a hot shit on said face.

I don't see what purpose it serves to make random assumptions about him or her being a spy. That only drives focus on infighting rather than fighting the shared enemy.

One thing I will say is a lot of influencer types talk about the WEF just cuz it gets them clicks.

But again... so what?

Trope from old movies and TV. Crazy paranoid character would make a hat out of tinfoil and wear it to stop the satellites reading his mind and controlling him.

Fun fact: tinfoil actually amplifies radio waves so they'd be doing the government's jobs easier.

Not so fun fact: they know everything about everyone already and Neuralink is attempting to making brain chips mainstream.

Love your cat pics, always zap worthy!

Yeah I like the chill vibes from a casual dev or small group doing a fun side project, and learning a bit even from the level of detail GitHub changelogs go into. It's always appreciated by me, especially when devs do it on mobile updates they know most devices just automatically install anyway. They still wanna cover that small percentage who read the changelogs.

This is why I still have a PGP key honestly. Very good for verification of identity without doxxing.

If you open Kleopatra or any PGP client and search xanny@nostrplebs.com you'll find my key.

If you save it somewhere, then at any point if you think something feels shady you can check I'm the real me by simply asking for a signed message, because the real me can always sign a message with my PGP key. No one else can unless they track me down irl and steal my Yubikeys.

"Hey man, what's new?"

"Bugfixes and performance improvements, you?"

Yup. Unless you are super rich, managed funds are a waste of time. Only people to ever get rich from that shit are the bankers running it.

When I do stonks I make my own pick and either I'll DCA, buy and hold, or I'll go full degen on margin trading and make or lose a few grand before I'm out of bed 😂

Popular app based "challenger bank" Monzo is now going to offer retail banking consumers access to ETFs backed by none other than our friends at Blackrock.

Curious timing.

The one glimmering shine of light here is these politicians clearly don't understand how anything works. This would be impossible to enforce and it's easy to mask a VPN session as regular TLS traffic.

Even China's great firewall is not difficult to bypass. So what chance does the French government have?
