This one's the gold standard IMO. The rabbit hole is deep, but the important parts are all at the surface.
QubesOS is great when you want VMs with hardcore hardware isolation out of the box.
NixOS is great when you just want to do whatever you want, with hardcore reproducibility...including everything that Qubes does with isolation.
I spent 8 years paying for my first (new) car. I bought it nearly 25 years ago. I still use it a few times a week to this day, so the mileage I've accumulated divided by the cost in early 90s dollars has been a great value me.
Some people would have gone through 8, 9, 10 cars over that time, which seems insane to me.

Its a recency bias. Analogs of these things are peppered throughout history all over. Frozen bank accounts = crops burned, or worse.
But those things happened in arguable isolation. Its the global connectivity we've achieved that, doesn't change those things (today's abuses like frozen bank accounts are benign & avoidable compared to some of the past), but it opens the door for humanity to be judged as one.
"Post this as my new Nostr verified Id - NIP05" is a tiny change but changes the entire meaning of the checkbox!
To be fair, localization in a startup open source app can be tricky though...
Yeah but, it's not the first time, that's the thing. We periodically align with that book in similar fashions (human nature and human lifespans maybe), but Renaissance our way out of it.
The only "this time is different" argument I can make is that, humanity as a whole is operating as (very close to) a single entity now. In the not so distant past, I'd argue we were much more decentralized as a species.

Too dark and niche for it's own brilliance
How folks could love Breaking Bad but be indifferent to Mr Robot baffles me. Until I realize more viewers can relate to drugs & crime than technology and power đ
Nocoiners look at me like I'm crazy when I start talking about the global south, *real* debt slavery, and bitcoin adoption for those folks.
Some bitcoiners do too, even if its more subtle.
Far too many self-described âlibertarianâ bitcoiners have a super caricatured view of what a progressive is and progressive values. We are all individuals with our own thoughts, experiences, and views.
When I say more diversity at bitcoin conferences would be good, itâs not for a status quo, tokenization, or this whole narrative people fuel themselves with from twitter. Itâs because Bitcoin is global and the worldâs largest bitcoin conference should showcase it, along with some already awesome speakers! Thatâs it. If we canât suggest improvements in the community, then whatâre we doing here? The status quo âlibertarianâ carnivore bitcoin maxi can suggest things, but not me. Got it. Freedom ftw.
Thereâs room for everyone here. Running nostr:npub1fpcd25q2zg09rp65fglxuhp0acws5qlphpg88un7mdcskygdvgyqfv4sld has actually given me a newfound appreciation for the word âprogressive.â Whatâs more progressive than freedom tech and bitcoin? We are making progress, together, and I welcome interactions with all view points. Iâm a freedom-maximalist, and I want everyone to be able to live how they want as long as youâre not causing harm to others.
Some of you bitcoiners need to hear this: stop picking fights with progressive/left leaning bitcoiners. We are on the same team here advocating for bitcoinâs success and greater adoption for a better world. Open dialogue, pushback, discussion is one thingâbut hateful interactions, name calling, or personal threats is childish and not helping anyone. Letâs build bridges and promote inclusion. Me expressing simple views is not a threat to you or to bitcoin.
I am not a political progressive.
I am not a radical progressive.
I have a low time preference, I'm future oriented. But I always look back where many would say never look back. The past is real; the future is not (yet!)
I am a literal progressive, who literally wants to conserve humanity's strengths.
I'm a progressive-conservative. And I'm totally fine with it.
This headline seems to describe the condition at least for all DNA based sentient life in the universe.

nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg is looking really good, especially if the back end services can be easily self hosted.
Whether the packages traveled by air or by land or by teleportation (đ¤Ł), you still need enough drivers to deliver them to the door at the end. No amount of efficiency or innovation can change this fact. Except maybe teleportation.
Wireguard is a true VPN. Other VPN services are really more like proxies.
Setup a DNS server, a router and an exit node, and you're good to go! With a NY, non-NY, EU, and Asia VPS on your tailnet, you essentially have a geo distributed "VPN" like all the other services offer
Germany and it's public WiFi is a mess. This train's DNS server up and died. xD brilliant. Now I have to force my Browser into DoH and the rest of Windows has no idea what to do. kool. Seriously. XD
On the bright side, I got #Zeus to work because my VPN somehow managed to connect! So I could actually access my homeserver. Yay.
Last, an actual #Bitcoin wallet to round everything up. And, apparently I need to read the #Lightning docs more - although nostr:npub137c5pd8gmhhe0njtsgwjgunc5xjr2vmzvglkgqs5sjeh972gqqxqjak37w sent me 31 sats, I see some odd things in the log; for some reason my "Give the bird a burger!" message is wrapped in a JSON array...? o.O But, that aside, it seems to mostly function. I also went ahead and added my LN Adress - it seems to work, after all.
So, fingers crossed I am nearly done? ^^;
Try wireguard or tail scale (a nice UX for wireguard)
Lots of times when I'm away, my internet may fail, but my home services are all fully operational, some of which...provide internet! đ
You'll need this plugin, and once its installed, there will be a macaroon file. Convert it to hex format, and you should be good to connect Zeus to it.
