How do you find balance past the horizon? Shadowy Super Coder; #nostr is the internets killer app

I think Democracy is a process (or rather lack of a process) of truth seeking. Trust is worse. Consensus is better. Science is best.

Politics is kind of orthogonal, and doesn't apply to Trust or Science, which are individual styles of truth seeking vs democracy and consensus which are group styles of truth seeking.

It'll be funny when the weight of the gas and the generator hurt the battery efficiency 🤣

If you get detained or worse, the BTC is cut off. If you do the multisig, your trusted partner can still access the funds, either as an heir, or to support any issues you might run into. In general, I don't like recommending people go at it alone when large amounts or high stakes are involved.

If you have a trusted person back home who you can communicate with from your destination, multisig is how to travel!

2 of 2 wallet, with a 1 of 2 time lock. You bring a key, they keep a key. You arrive, coordinate the PSBTs, and spend the keys out to your own wallet to go from there.

If your key is compromised, you'll need to wait for the timelock, and then have your trusted person send them unilaterally to your new wallet, and go from there.

"Trusted" is the super duper important keyword here. You need to trust the person you enlist to work through it with you. They'll know your balance, and technically they can steal your coins.

NFT crowd is always getting burned!

I would try to detach the religious aspects of the conflict (99% of what we perceive going in here, and of which we're all acutely aware) from the economic history of Jewish and Muslim people and their beliefs.

I am of the opinion that for centuries, the interpretations of economic principles from the Bible and the Quran are what led to the real world tensions between Jewish and Muslim populations, particularly around the concept of usury. In the 20th century, whether it was Jewish people or not, our entire global economy is now solely BACKED by credit. Since we live in a society today based on widespread and deliberate financial illiteracy, we point to "religion" as the cause, and while that's technically true, I don't believe it's the complete picture.

I'd also like to hear accounts from clear headed, logical, humanity-driven Palestinian and Israeli people. It is too easy to give hateful single-minded people a platform in this environment, but those accounts help bridge the "fog of war" gap a lot of westerners have to grapple with. The only Palestinian woman I was able to speak to expressed her hatred for Israel, but moreso her fear and hatred for Hamas. She ended by saying she'd forgive Israel for a lot, if Hamas is able to be stopped.

Glad you're willing to speak up. You command a lot of trust and respect, for good reason. You have a closer perspective to this conflict than most. Looking forward to hear your thoughts!

They do. Intel uses them to know about a chips warranty status for example.

Phones have IMEI, yet we all still use them. Operating systems initialize a unique number on every install, etc.

I read the Bitcoin white paper as a recent college grad around 2011 and immediately was drawn to it's elegance and it's concise but clear nature.

It wasn't until 2013 when the Greek banks gave their depositors a haircut to bail themselves out that I truly understood the value of bitcoins unconfiscatable properties, and that was the lightbulb moment!

It wasn't until fall 2019 that I really truly understood how Bitcoin will fit into the emerging geopolitical landscape. I had just reached the end of studying the fiat system, and when it broke, the gears started turning in my head. Couple months later, no one is allowed to go to work.

It takes many years to really truly grok everything that Bitcoin is and can do. #StudyBitcoin is the absolute correct message we need to be sending folks, and particularly kids who still have plasticity in their brains and aren't distracted by dogmas and propaganda of yesterday.

#FinancialLiteracy for the win!

Fear and Love are the two fundamental emotions. Modern society promotes fear and all of it's descendent emotions, but fear is hugely overrated.

Choose love.

Happy Conception Day, Bitcoin! ❤️

Ok so...

I've got a conspiracy theory prepper friend who for a decade refuses to take any action regarding Bitcoin (and trust me I've tried...hard. We're old & close friends beyond all this stuff, so the gloves have come off more than once 😁).

She spends most of her time absorbing doom porn conspiracy theory engagement farming content, she hates politicians and lizard people and inflation too..

but refuses to take that extra step towards "maybe it's the money..."

So fam, what are some content sources (she likes YT channels mainly, but I could maybe sell her on audio pods, maybe fountain one day 😏) that aren't Bitcoin themed per se, but that do talk about the topic in the context of other doom porny topics?

I'm thinking something like RHR/TFTC, which do a pretty good job IMO of calling out the bad forces around us in the context of Bitcoin.. but I think she'd be more warm at first to something more inverted. Call out Bitcoin in the context of the bad forces.

This might just be me trying to hard with this one... 🤷‍♂️

Let's see what you got #nostr fam!

"Change many things, then it finally works somewhat" on Friday the 13th. Spooky 😂
