How do you find balance past the horizon? Shadowy Super Coder; #nostr is the internets killer app

If your dog bites the thief and the state euthanizes your dog, it means the state values thieves' health more than your dogs life. 🎯

More coordinators with the same users means smaller pools. That's why Sparrow used samourai's whirlpool pools. Smaller pools aren't ideal, they get fewer mixes and have lower anonymity.

"fully deanonymized" - After reading the posts of this link, Tell me how this is supposed to work technically? Unless you've been fooling around with KYC UTXOs.

The wallet server has all the xpubs for non dojo users & the xpubs with a bunch of 1m, 5m, etc sat UTXOs in their histories are the postmix accounts. *If* the feds have the wallet server, they can find the postmix account, find the corresponding other three accounts, and cluster every users transactions & mixes together, so unless a user never touched KYC, their name would likely be tied to their cluster.

Don't forget, the guy who wrote those posts...is now in prison. Whether prison for this is right or wrong (it's the latter), the samourai guys clearly didn't have it all figured out.

It's dead unless/until a new coordinator comes online.

If the app shows you the balance, it sent the xpub. Each of the 4 whirlpool accounts were sent. Only question is whether the agencies got that data, or eg. it was/will be wiped 🤷‍♂️

I'd err on the side of the xpub data being compromised

It's an underappreciated irony that, without that movement, the music industry during those years would have been retarded (in the literal sense) to a large extent, if not financially, then at least essentially.

A typical person doesn't have time to discover the potentially hundreds of bands they like. FM is too low bandwidth, and discs aren't exactly scalable either. The industry wasn't champing at the bit to go innovate ways to serve that eager audience, so...tl;dr it was their loss 🤷‍♂️😉

Nostr git isn't quite ready for primetime yet, but #gitea is a quick way to spin up your own git server and periodically fetch from other repos.

I routinely do this; I'm sad I missed the samourai one.

Of the $2b they cited, they only categorized $100m as criminal (but simultaneously tried to imply that all of it was laundered). It would be a tiny little consolation if this documentation being available is the agencies being "helpful" 🙂

Yep. If they have the xpubs, then the history of those wallets is unmixed, and every mix round those wallets participated in has its anonymity set reduced, because the known xpub adresses are effectively doxxed. There could be mix rounds with only one dojo input; elimination process, that round is now moot. Enough such rounds, and the whole pool is effectively deanonymized, with maybe small pockets of anonymity left over
