Maple season is over. Collecting buckets in woods and saw young ramps popping up. These will go on baked potato tonight and eggs in morning. We get 5-6 weeks of these to forage. Another reason to be in the woods in the spring. My woods are loaded with them.

One asked if they could use their phones as others nodded. I said yes, at that point they didn't care, any government. These are good kids. I don't teach my ethics or morals, I teach anatomy,, biology and physics, so I left it there.

Have to be careful next few days. Weather says this is last collection of season as it gets warmer. Sap is like milk and can go bad in warm. I had enough frozen sap I will be able to keep it below 40 degrees for 2 days. Took day off work to get through sap. + running out of wood.
Did these at my Sister's house of Sarah's Soaps kinda/sorta fame. Beef next week is at mine.

Syrup was getting darker for season. Rt. 7 day warm spell no sap. Hard freeze and thaw. Back to light syrup.(left) If u don't know what I'm talking about you need #foodintelligence @modernTman is doing it with @beefinitiative but all food products have been captured by industry
