Our project will be participating in the Bitcoin Conference MakerSpace next month in Nashville -- come by our booth to learn about multisig cold storage and our DIY, stateless signing model for long-term saving with bitcoin. 🧡
I really enjoyed talking and hearing about your background as well. 🧡
The essence of "bitcoin-only" is not about excluding or removing features that are related to "crypto" from a given product, it's about not wasting time and resources on creating them to begin with.
Sorry to dox you like this, but...
I am much more in agreemenr with his approach than against it.
A #SeedSigner not only reduce the SW tradeoffs to the minimum but the HW as well. You can easily split your DIY components order via different suppliers and plus your end HW can be a #SeedSigner or a simple bacheloor project for IoT.

🧡
I wouldn't use the word "scam" for what he's describing here, but the hardware wallet companies definitely work hard to shape the information landscape around cold storage issues, and often don't help users understand the tradeoffs involved with their devices. Glad to see more people GROK-ing this. nostr:note1rttcedsxpxyu906aj2qtvqjwrvs59esqrpf7nn2cv0sk7khln6zs7knwdc
If that is your threat model then source the parts and build a SeedSigner. Or get an old laptop and rip out the wifi and bluetooth.

SeedSigner basically just helps users who are willing to put in a little work build a hardened, single-purpose, inexpensive offline device that is specifically intended for creating and using private keys. 👍
I do indeed. My online shop is at
https://btc-hardware-solutions.square.site/
or I'm always happy to make sales p2p via dm/email with BTC/LN.
Forgive the shill but if you will be at BTC Prague and are in the market for a premium SeedSigner, I have a limited number of these sets with me. It's primarily from the sales of signers and other items that I'm able to travel to conferences and meetups to talk about our project with other bitcoiners. The support I've received thus far has been invaluable. 🧡

New enough that I don't think I know for sure, don't know that anyone has tried running it on a Pi 5. We do have a release image for Pi4.

Part of the annoying thing about it is that sending to CashApp has worked once or twice out of the dozens of times I've attempted. It's so flakey.
