Last I heard they're not letting operating systems that are even more secure than default android have the 'certification' needed to run certain apps like banking apps and other secure apps.
It's only a matter of time before Google is forced to open up their SafetyNet attestation to alternate OS like Graphene.

This is really the main area we need help so we can focus on development and much less on defending ourselves. It's harder for people to help us with the spurious legal system attacks, etc.
