An awesome review for Consuelda comfrey salve! I love how something I made 5 years ago has been able to help so many people heal themselves faster. #grownostr #comfreysalve #Consueldacomfreysalve #youhealyou

Man, this turned out to be such a wonderful conversation with Eric Farewell. I first listened to Eric in person at a conference called CapCon just a little over a month ago. After hearing him speak, I knew he would be a fantastic guest on the show. Man, was I right. Eric is an amazing person who has been through quite a bit but has emerged from it all a better individual.

He has taken all the hits from life and turned them into valuable learning experiences that have shaped him into who he is today.

I absolutely loved how he describes life as a journey. We are all on the same journey, though we travel different trails and experience various good times. It is a journey without a destination, and all we have is the journey itself. Let's make the best out of every day.

Eric has had to overcome terrible physical pain, which he continues to suffer from to this day, as well as the emotional pain that accompanies it.

He talks about all that and more in this episode.

Don't miss it, and share it far and wide.

Happy Friday!

I am going to start making short videos about our journey on Instagram @con.suelda and here. If you are on Instagram please go and follow us if you haven't already. They are going to be informative, funny, and inspiring - I hope. I thought I would share with you first, kind of where it all started.

Consuelda was kind of an accident. I had too much comfrey leaf and didn't know what to do with it. My dad gave me an idea to make a salve with the extra leaf, so I did. I found a recipe, then dried up some leaf.

I looked around and found that the other ingredients I needed were available in a Dietetica (a store that sells organic produce in Argentina) that was not too far from where we lived. It's crazy how it all works out. That is a whole other story for Instagram.

With all the ingredients, I made the first batch in this Kitchen. Yes, it was so small that the fridge door could not be opened all the way.

Five days after making it, this happened. I broke my big toe on my left foot.

After a week of being the first experiment applying it every 3 hours, I was playing basketball pain-free. I could not believe what had just happened. I was blown away by how fast my toe had healed itself. Consuelda was born!

That was 5 years ago. To me, it just feels so crazy; here we are 5 years later, seeing it helping thousands of people.

I felt its effects firsthand; that is how it all started.

I know you heal you, that is for sure. I also now know that you heal you faster with Consuelda comfrey salve!

Today I want share a little about patience.

Patience is a virtue we should all strive for. Being patient makes life so much more enjoyable. I had to wait 2 months for an incredibly nutrient dense tomato. Talk about the opposite of instant gratification. Not only do I have to wait over 2 months but I had to prepare the ground, I had to plant the seed. I had to take care of the plant that germinated from that seed and wait until nature said “here you go, enjoy the fruits of your labor.”

In a world of instant gratification the garden is one of the best places to fight back and learn to enjoy life as a journey where not everything is available right now at the click of a button.

If you want to teach this important attribute to your kids or just need a refresher plant a seed and care for it. If it is for your kids, start with radishes so they see in 3 weeks how their efforts payed off.

What does the garden teach you? I would love to know. #grownostr #gardening #growagarden #patience #patienceasavirtue

Gardening is truly a personal experience and each garden is distinct in a beautiful way. That is why I love getting pictures of peoples gardens from around the world.

The homesteading movement is growing by leaps and bounds because more and more people are finding that the organizations that they thought were supposed to help them are doing the opposite. They are also realizing that they need to take responsibility for their lives and their health. This is helping people realize how growing their own food is more and more important to their well-being and overall security.

This is where I can help, growing food is one way to increase well-being and security however it truly is only the beginning. I know I can help you walk this wonderful journey.

Growing our own food is a learning experience every year. It is a great way to keep ourselves sharp mentally. The planning, preparing, planting, growing, harvesting, eating and preserving are all ways to learn, grow and stay sharp.

Our bodies need the peace nature gives. The garden is an edge of nature that can be present on a balcony, front yard or a 3 acre plot a mile away from home. Let your body experience the healing and peaceful power of this beautiful edge of nature. #grownostr #growyourownfood #edgeofnature #prepare #theawakening #garden

Life is short. As I inch closer and closer to my birthday, that one thought keeps coming back. So much to learn, so much to love so much to enjoy, so much to appreciate, how do we do it all. We can’t, but we can choose what we will learn, how we will love, what we will enjoy, and what we will appreciate.

I have lost so much time in self pity over the years that I got to the point of not even thinking there was much to live for in this life. I can’t get that time back but what I can do is choose to not allow myself to get to that point again. One of the ways I have been able to change my perspective on life is by - Focusing on what is eternal!

I believe there are three things that are eternal, they are family, knowledge and God.

I believe that our spiritual health is just as important as our mental health and our physical health and by focusing on what I believe is eternal the perspective on life changes and suddenly over time we see that so many things really don’t matter and many other things don’t even merit our precious time.

If I could say one thing that I believe will help all of us is - today take five minutes and call or write a note to a family member.

Health is about being at peace with yourself and your loved ones even though your loved ones don’t think like you. Health is about peace where you live, where ever those four walls are that make up your home.

If you can maintain as much peace between those four walls you are on the right path to health. Peace is so much more than not fighting. Peace is so much more than accepting those around you for who they are, imperfect beings on a very long journey to perfection.

Peace at home comes in many ways. Peace at home comes with knowing that you are eating nutrient dense food almost all the time and not getting anxious if you aren’t perfect.

Peace at home is getting to bed before its too late and waking up refreshed early and ready to take on another day.

Peace at home is taking time to move and stretch your body on a regular basis.

Peace at home is working with the proper professionals that will coach you in your lifelong journey of health and well-being.

Peace at home is knowing who you are and loving that imperfect person you know you are.

You are enough! #grownostr #peace #peaceathome #healthsimplifed #findpeace

Life is beautiful, joyful, sad, scary, wonderful, and sometimes even terrible but every moment is a moment to learn and be better.

As I learn to be a better person I still fall and allow my inner child to win. I let him get out and make a mess of things, it is less and less but it still happens.

As I am trying to become a better person I am also trying to grow as a gardener as a person that provides nutrient dense food to my family and I. It is a journey that never ends. My grandpa who has gardened his whole life told me that he learned something new about gardening up until his very last garden, which wasn’t that long ago and he is almost 90 years old.

I have been having problems with red spider mites for the last three years and have learned how to fight them with smashing them, spraying them down and now I am going to make a spray with 2 tablespoons of soap 2 tablespoons of olive oil and one gallon of water. I am hoping this will be the winner because the first 2 years the spider mite has won.

We all have challenges, we might fail once, twice even more but we must keep going one step at a time and with patience and persistence we will. I will conquer the spider mite if not this year maybe next. #grownostr #garden #spidermite #growagarden #

I have had the last two weeks to really think about this new year and what It can bring if I work for it.

I have had the opportunity to enjoy the presence of people that I have not seen for a long time and really just listen and also contribute to the conversation without any digital screens in between us. A wonderful way to really enjoy life. I appreciate those moments and they are never a waste.

I have also had some experiences that have just shown me how important it is to be in the present moment. Stoicism has taught me that most stresses are self induced and that we make things out to be a lot worse than they really are. This last week I had a hard time sleeping worrying about what might happen the next day and then finding out the next day that it just seemed to all work out.

My testimony of putting faith in god and not worrying about or fearing what man can or will do was also strengthened by some nerve wracking moments that should have been moments of calm.

I have also learned that life will not give you everything and that challenges will occur and the way we tackle them is what will break us or make us better.

This all happened in the last two weeks. Life is a learning experience lets use it to the maximum. #grownostr #stocism #lifeasateacher #bethecalm

Who would have thought that our gut is so important to your physical and mental well-being.

As we begin to take back the responsibility of our own health there are two places where we should start. Healing our wounded guts and our traumatized nervous systems.

Our gut houses trillions of bacteria and for every bacteria found in a healthily gut we find 10 viruses accompanying it.

Bacteria and viruses are part of us and as soon as we start a war against them we start a war against ourselves and the only outcome is loss and death.

Healing our wounded guts by eating foods grown in our own gardens and playing in that soil that is growing our food is the best way to start taking responsibility for our own health and only than only when we take responsibility can we change. #grownostr #guthealth #growwhatyoueat

Today we focus on three main plants and the progress of the garden as a whole. The plants we cover are...

Red Rat's Tail Radish

Tromboncino Squash

Mouse Mellon

I'll try to keep doing weeklyish updates on the gardens though the summer/fall.

That garden is so much better than mine. I am about 2 hours south of where you are.

As I ponder in my small backyard garden enjoying what nature provides, what comes to mind is the importance of moving forward leaving behind this botch of time where health decisions on a world scale were in the hands of a few people, making every decision based on one factor, completely ignoring the consequences of their actions on the mental, spiritual and physical health of each and every one of us.

Just a couple days ago the ban on people entering the States all due to the status of a person being injected with an experiment has ended.

As we look back over the last 3 years of how the exact same practices have brought more physical and mental anguish and sickness, and how ugly it feels to write this but death. Lets not ever let how we decide to be healthy be dictated by just a few even in times where it seems there is no other alternative.

We have to take responsibility for our health. We have to decide now that we will dedicate time to our spiritual health, mental health and physical health.

Today I share with you one simple and satisfying way we can. No we don’t need all the science, no we don’t need all the people in high places telling us how or what we should be doing. What we need is a look at our own history. Learn about your ancestors, learn how they lived.

Bringing your personal history back into conversations, talking about how they lived is a beautiful way to fortify your spiritual health and emotional health. As we improve our spiritual health and emotional health the natural desire to strengthen our physical health will magically appear.

Don’t let years of fear stop you from taking back responsibility for your own health. #grownostr #youhealyou #nomorefear
