Now I know, why my kids want hoodies all the time. Everyone in their class wears hoodies. My daughter just sent me a photo of their lesson right now.

Maybe *I* should stop wearing hoodies at my age. 🤔

Eczacı Taylan 😀

You see that? Can your Twitter client do that too?

And yes, seems like they also do that to 'verified blue check' users. Imagine paying for more reach and getting shadow banned. 😄

Why should reach be regulated? To suggest other accounts? What I have in mind is not a classic timeline.

Firefox was always the only mobile browser that allowed extensions but they were few. But this is a game changer.

X, Nostr, Bluesky, Threads, even weblogs ... all timeline-based UIs (user interfaces).

They all share one common drawback: posts quickly disappear from the attention zone, old posts are hard to find, become practically inaccessible, expire too quickly, and good content gets lost too easily.

The next revolution of social media UIs would be: not timeline-based, but content-based. A completely different form of presentation that would eliminate all the drawbacks mentioned above. Truly revolutionary.

It would also render a manipulative algorithm obsolete. I have the concept/UI and author functions in mind for years. However, implementing it would require some capital.

And the start of the x axis is when?

Now, in practice, something like this is quite complicated, especially when one wants to engage in international import/export using Bitcoin as a means of payment. The various tax laws of the respective countries involved come into play. Depending on how these laws are structured, it can also pose a certain disadvantage.

Do you already know import/export companies that conduct business based on Bitcoin?

Subhanallah, I find it mind-blowing, that we still have a real face for one of the figures mentioned in the Quran today. That we not only need to imagine him but even have a clear impression of whom Musa (peace be upon him) had to speak to back then.

"A conspiracy theory about an obscure group that rules the world is far too lazy an explanation. Especially when the truth is much more frightening. The truth is, no one is in control and no one is pulling the strings. There are some people who have the right access to the right information. But when important things happen in the world, the best even the most powerful can hope for is a forewarning." - Leave the world behind

Right. And you can you can use the 'Neat URL' addon to open links without tracking parameters. Marketeers hate this trick.

Found out half of the accounts I was following were orphaned. They haven't posted anything since 4 months or more. And I was wondering why my timeline got emptier. Now I have to find some new, active accounts to follow.

Nostr clients should have something like a "Last active" indicator in the followings lists.

Literally every Bitcoin-related newsletter right now:

"Bitcoin to $100,000 in 2024?"

Dude chill. We urgently need a widespread bankless circular economy, not fiat profits that let one fall back into this riba system.

Some people really believe that a random event, like a galactic mega-explosion, that only happens once in a quintillion years, can occur and the result is a meaningful order with perfectly coordinated scientific variables.

As if any human has ever experienced such a thing, as if something like this has ever happened again anywhere. Every scientific theory and empirical experience goes against such an event. Be it on a large or small scale.

First I was like "let's get some" but then I realized these are not good for SEO. Would be a very long-term investment until it eventually pays off.

Shouldn't freelancers and service providers link their hourly rates to Bitcoin instead of fiat money? Conversion can always be done to fiat currencies when required. However, the base should be a stable currency like Bitcoin.

Good or bad idea?

Yeah, sounds good. But to make this possible, we need a real circular economy. Then we can't even use those crypto debit cards to pay our local stores (that don't accept Bitcoin) for groceries, because they're bank on/off ramps too.

We need at least one local store for our basic needs that accepts Bitcoin. Unfortunately it's still all theory (except some rare places and El Salvador of course).

What was I thinking? But okay, I wanted to listen to someone else's advice. But in this case, I knew better. And now the numbers confirm it too. I'm glad I'm rid of this crap.

Yes, if we witness direct oppression in our daily lives, we shouldn't just stand by. But for injustice happening out of our reach, there are other ways.

It's not necessarily an equalizer. The rich can get richer or the poor can get poorer.

I'd rather say, Muslims have other incentives. Like, when they build a waqf, it's for the akhira (and hasana jariya). When they follow the rules (including the Sunnah) of zakat, their economic behaviour becomes a means for both, a better akhira and dunya. Because even the rich profit from an environment where the most needy are taken care of. But it doesn't necessarily make them less rich.
