Those were sneak previews of future events.
Amazing that you still use it at all.
Right. I've heard that there are even several backdoors for govs in it. But baby steps. It's better than WhatsApp at least.
One must consider that Signal does not spread among the masses through the argument of 'security' alone (nobody cares about security and privacy tbh). Rather, it spreads through 'looks and works like WhatsApp, but is safer'.
Which decentralized chat service is usable enough for my family and non-techie friends to use?
I've never seen a final version of a software. Have you?

https://youtu.be/FQd5bo9nIZs?si=bFe_Z53ZhcA_f-Xb i wouldn't use any of that. These ppl dont care about any of you or your data or privacy
I know, Matrix would be better, but baby steps. The one at least is better than the other.
We had this phase where all of us privacy-conscious freaks thought WhatsApp was evil. And we were promoting Signal. But at the same time, everyone of us complained that no one in their circle could be convinced to use Signal.
Now, 7-8 years later, it has happened. I have more contacts on Signal than on WhatsApp. My family, my best friends and people I work with. More things happen through Signal daily than through WhatsApp. WhatsApp has lost in my circle, which stretches from Europe, to Africa, and to the US. It wasn't always easy, but one had to remain hard and consistent. One had to say, "If you want something from me, you have to contact me through Signal." It took years, but we finally won this little battle, alhamdulillah.
Anyone who continues to primarily use WhatsApp is either a toddler or a loser.
Take that as a template for how things that seemed unchangeable can indeed change, بإذن الله.
Yes, if only it were that simple. Try paying your rent in Bitcoin, if you're already among the 1% who get paid in BTC.
Still, quite motivating speech.

A sofa flies from one building into another in a storm in Ankara (my hometown).
I don't like wall plaster, wallpaper, laminate or wooden floors. Just give me something like this.

Istanbul'um ...

Sometimes, when you work a lot, you unfortunately forget that you also have a virtual life.
One of the biggest mistakes you can make when starting your own community/group is to spam it with your posts. While you usually only want to get things going, other members quickly get the impression that it's just another timeline of yours and they're just followers.
Just have patience. Wait a while. A few extroverted people will eventually start posting things and accept it as "their" neutral space.

Oh sorry, didn't notice you tagging me. Got no notification.
He's refering to the coming halving, where the reward for mining one block will be halved. And less Bitcoin is produced by miners. This is implemented in the Bitcoin protocol.
Google "Bitcoin halving" to learn more about it.
What has reminded me for the past 20 years is that we need to be even more independent from them and even more sovereign.
Because in the end, they all screw you over.
Only open source and taking matters into your own hands has never disappointed.
What? nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 is known for being grumpy? Haha, he once accused me himself of constantly being so negative.

Since I dealt with a broken computer and backups again yesterday, here's an article about it. Folks, remember backups, they're important.
