I built a lnurl server that uses phoenixd as the funding source. The beauty of lnurl is anything can be used as a funding source. Phoenixd exposes an http API. This http API is exposed through a tunnel from my local PC to a vps. Phoenixd could be run on the vps directly though
Do you mean government making more law abiding citizens criminal gives them more power? Not sure I understand the usage of "feeds the beast" in this context?
By this logic, the vast majority of users won't know about VPNs?.
It isn't a huge leap for users who currently use VPNs to know about portable routers
What is so ridiculous about this is the ease of bypassing this. Portable routers with VPN support obsoletes these useless bans.
Just saw an open source alternative to notion on YouTube from fireship. These sections would end up hurting the companies in the long run
The biggest complaint about telegram is its lack of e2ee. But telegram succeeds mostly because of the ease to create bots without permission and this is what fuels the activity of most group chats on telegram. With this on mind how could e2ee be achieved on an effective bot echo system within telegram?
It feels the hate telegram gets is more of a kneejerk reaction to its CEO's comments about Signal not being secure.
No other centralized platform pushes the group features the way telegram does.
Telegram today is the equivalent of a bbs forum but on a centralized platform. I'm not convinced most users of telegram have any strong opinions about e2ee or even care
Personally I would choose a telegram group over discord any day if those are the two options.
The ease to create bots is one of telegram's best features.
The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to obey.
Linux mint. After a few days, I was able to get it working with no additional effort on my part. Though couldn't use it because the screen was just black.
Seems scroll position doesn't work on #amethyst or seem to be broken in the latest release. Clicking a link in a post thatbopens a browser and returning to the app scrolls to the latest post.
They are not because it is easy to forget nostr means notes and other stuff transmitted through relays. The other stuff seems to be missing in these discussions.
There are incentives for those who run them . Ecash mint operators would run relays. Businesse and creators on nostr would. Specialized Clients looking to provide unique experiences for their users would also run relays
This is a feature of nostr. Relays can do anything and clients can easily switch
Zaps as ecash denominated in $ is how we get the normies. There would be dedicated nostr clients to swap $ecash to usdt/usdc after a specific threshold is reached for those who don't like native lightning zaps.
I mean cashu mints specifically
Can #cashu be built on top of lighter lightning implementation like Alby-hub or phoenixd?
With #keet pear, hole punch, it should be technically possible to create a nostr client that creates a p2p tunnel between two users such that private communication goes through the p2p tunnel instead of being broadcasted to relays. Nostr helps with profile discovery but communication is handled by pear.
Connection keys are sent through dms and as long as the recipient are using the same client, the tunnel setup.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOO 🚀

Can't believe I'm just seeing this song. Real banger
For those of us self hosting, does this just require updating with the latest release?
