True. The value for me is it's an efficient tool for learning and sharing knowledge. π
Just for reference, this isn't perfectly accurate because i can't find exact measurements of the booster only, but the entire starship is a little over 400ft.
This makes the Statue of Liberty a tad taller than the booster alone from what it looks like, but this should give some references to try to picture the scale of what just happened and why this is a big deal.
This is the rocket that they expect to be able to potentially take humans (back? π€) to the moon and further, and it just launched into space, returned on its own, and was firmly and safely placed back to the exact same position where it will take off from for its next mission. π€―

This is where you can see the workers in comparison...

It's hard to imagine Blue Origin doing anything like this. SpaceX is in a league of its own.
The tech in my hand right now sure is useful though. Finding the right balance is essential.
π― Children are the only true legacy we have. The rest is ephemeral.
Like sci Fi movie. Just crazy

Congrats to SpaceX and all their talented engineers! The amazing thing besides the catch was being able to watch Starship orbiting live, thanks to Starlink. The plasma field that formed around Starship on reentry was beautiful. Live, high-def video during the extreme heat of reentry was never possible before, AFAIK.
Or did you use a third-party multisig provider?
I still struggle with how to properly distribute the keys. More specifically, who do I trust to not lose or misplace the key entrusted to them? I guess you can bury the keys in the woods instead, but that's risky too. Any tips?
Good idea. I would add you should use a privacy-oriented translator, otherwise Google can effectively see all of your posts.
- A seed phrase stored in the cloud is the worst idea you can have, it can be a google worker for example.
- A seed phrase without passphase is the second worst idea you can have.
- A weak passphrase is the third worst idea you can have.
- A multi-signature is the fourth worst idea you can have if you don't know what you are doing.
But the worst idea is to use shitcoins and wallets that don't care about security.
And always use wallets recommended on Bitcoin.org as they follow a rigorous screening process to be listed and don't use shitcoins to store your wealth.

I like the idea of a complex passphrase but I don't trust myself to remember it as I age, regardless of how many times I repeat it to myself. π€·
Gotcha, you hate the messenger but not the message. At least I think that's what you're saying.
Wow, I didn't even use the word "they". Academia and science, like everything else, needs funding. And fiat money corrupts everything... except academia and science? How can you be that naive?
I'm mostly familiar with Bret, and while long-winded, etc., I give him credit for slowly opening his eyes to the corruption in academia and peer-reviewed science (aka The Science β’οΈ). Maybe he doesn't check all the boxes for you, but the fact is, he's speaking out when so many others remain silent. He's finally on the "don't trust, verify" path; isn't that worth something?
Imagine the TV show BattleBots with two of these fighting each other. I would watch that.
Not just these, the DoD will take an interest in all companies making advanced robots.
Or Copilot sucks.
