The Aegis relay is a nice developmental addition to the Nostr relay ecosystem. We haven't had a new paid relay platform launch in almost two years. Aegis will fill a nice gap for those that want to run paid relays on their own server, with their own domain, but also are not experienced developers or overly familiar with the command line. Plus, with the addition of file hosting support, this could be a nice package for onboarding new users.

And speaking of being sovereign, for those of us that run our own Lightning nodes, it would be nice to have a future version with LND support, LNbits support, etc.

I wish you never were on the other side of this equation.

Believe me, it’s freaking hard even when you have a job and in theory all the security and you don’t really run away from anything.

Yet you still meet someone that thinks you inferior because you have different skin colour, were born 20km to the right of imaginary line, have funny accent or other stupid reason.

Imagine now you are running for your life and you will surely be dead when ‘deported where you came from’ because someone thinks you inferior.

That it is. And same here. Ironically, it was the military that made me lean towards this line of thought.

And, yes, I agree. It would be better to just rid ourselves of borders and let life run it's course.

okay long story short fam I was misdiagnosed with a brain aneurysm in May of this year after a car accident.

fast forward after many tests and appointments, they then conclude it’s an AVM.

fast forward some more stress and tests and specialists, turns out it’s not an AVM but a harmless larger vein and I just got the results today.

Yep. Turns out people don’t like being forced into a polity with those they consider Other. Whatever the relative merits of their criteria for making that determination. At this point I’m willing to call that a permanent part of the human condition in the people that have it. One that isn’t going away. I’d support abolishing borders with the caveat that right to discriminate and not let outsiders become integrated into your local community is also a right that the members of the community get to exercise at their own discretion for any reason they choose. I mean all of it. The doctors can decide not to treat you. The stores can decide not to sell to you. The roads paid for by members of the community, to include local taxation can be closed to you though with that I’d add the proviso that you would not be obliged to pay in. It’s also not immediately clear to me why someone gets to move to a community and immediately get the vote. Whether that person moved 75 miles or 7,500 miles.

Being Christian is at the bottom of my priority list, and I am not sure why it’s even there. Being American didn’t make it.

Does it? They keep telling us that they can't deport anyone because it's so hard to figure out which ones. Oh, it's so complicated and they're so many and it take so long to decide...
