Yes. You’re seeing it now with light shining from behind it. This is a partial core from another project so I would just install a light source on the rear.

Playing with an idea for a new sculpture..
Carrara marble and orange calcite. A glowing column inspired by classical civilizations with Bitcoin accents. Definitely with a light source behind the orange calcite..
Bitcoin will form the basis of a brighter future and what better way to represent that than one of the most recognizable symbols of civilization: the column.

Just trial and error. I used to do more work in resin before I started working in stone so this isn’t new. But it’s been a while.
Polishing is done…
Not sure I’m satisfied with the sanding though. I may go back and redo it. Could just be perfectionism rearing its ugly head so I’m going to sit on it for a bit and see how I feel later.

I’m either wearing a mask or wet sanding. Mostly wet sanding so it’s not an issue.
I kinda hate working with resin…
…but I also kinda love it.
Done for the day. Done with sanding. Tomorrow I’ll get to polishing and if all goes well I’ll end up with a beautiful glass like finish. Stay tuned..

This year at nostr:npub1rwh33t5x8n7czknhts5fg0v0fml8mkl7neaarksumkkf8d679qrqcz7avv I’m proud to display three of my finest works in stone.
Each piece is a testament to Bitcoin, Bitcoiners and this once in a civilization movement that I’m lucky to be a part of.
Going to Vegas? Would love to connect. I’ll be hanging around the art gallery so come say hi.
And if you’re interested, check out all the nostr:npub1rujwkh9c3jnq70g3v62rrm6m7pxqsz25675narm74q9emcwqltjswe00fg auctions, mine as well as all the others. I’m blown away by all the talent on display this year. See the link below for more info.

Yep great advice. This piece is definitely more about the overall composition anyway. I think as artists it’s just part of the job to always be dissatisfied at least in part. It pushes us to improve.
Nearly done sanding. A few of the tighter areas to finish and then I can move on to polishing.
There are more air bubbles than I would have liked and some visible swirls in the clear resin, but I’m still happy overall with how it’s turning out.
This sculpture was a pretty expensive experiment for me and the largest resin pour I’ve ever attempted, so I’m glad it worked out in the end.

“Are you done yet? Can I has treats?”

All I want is for someone to buy this carving and install it in a stone wall where it will sit for thousands of years.
Is that too much to ask?

Hey yes I live near LA and would like to buy some of your artwork, when can nostr:npub1ymt2j3n8tesrlr0yhaheem6yyqmmwrr7actslurw6annls6vnrcslapxnz and I come check you out?
I don’t really have a gallery or anything like that. Were you interested in one of my available pieces or commissioning something? Shoot me a dm or email me at brekkie@vonbitcoin.com. Happy to discuss.
And done. Right in time for Mother’s Day.
My neighbor commissioned a planter as a gift for his mom and we settled on using this beautiful chunk of onyx from New Mexico because it slightly resembled a heart shape.
Live near LA and want a stone planter?
I love making planters in general so shoot me a message. Shipping costs are normally prohibitive though, so best if you live within driving distance…or have a lot of Bitcoin to spend.

Hey Bitaxers, who’s going to Vegas later this month?
If you’ll be there stop by the art gallery to say hi and check out my artwork.
I’ll have this piece and two others on display and up for auction.

And sun’s not an issue. Maybe very long term? Hopefully this will end up indoors anyway.
Thanks Max! This is sort of an experimental piece and an attempt to use all the extra cutoff pieces of stone from my latest commission. Sort of mempool inspired. Blocks falling into place..
