That's good to know, I imagine most are picking random relays. But it's all learning, thanks for the help
Ok thanks, for some reason I assumed I should've been doing it manually each time (think I saw someone do that in a tutorial)
so you do it manually for every message? I signed into the client at the beginning but no longer get asked. swapping between primal and amethyst, not requiring signature. Wondering if I'm doing it wrong?
We MIGHT be on the cusp of a #bitcoin bull run and your FIAT profits may be in the 10's or, if you were in early, even 100's of thousands of dollars. But keep in mind, if you sell you may never be able to buy back the same amount of sats. Not because you won't have the FIAT but because the banks and exchanges won't let you buy back in the 10's of thousands. My brother just tried to buy heavy and bank closed his account. Expect this to become the norm.
If possible if you use a LSP. But you should follow this podcast!

This will help you understand lightning
thank you
right, I can see how this either gets automated or bigger players take that problem away from you (for a fee and perhaps less privacy).
trying to get my head around #Lightning network. If I were to get a non custodial wallet and provide own liquidity but only have say 1000 000 sats in channels but then let people pay money to LN address (invoice), if the incoming payments exceed 1000 000 sats does that LN invoice stop working taking payments?
Thanks for your time

Well this is terrifying. Sounds like we desperately need the overlap in journalism and scientists to stop this WHO takeover. How did we get here? We may need to get really French and bring back the chop machine.
Powerful, articulate and fearless. The last 6 or 7 minutes, posturing the consequences of not acting and the terrifying notion that the people making these decisions actually have no idea about the horrors they could unleash. Great interview.
I've been getting bitcoin related friend requests on Facebook lately. Coincides with #nostr use. Is there anyway people can find your fb address through #nostr ? Surely not. Could be from listening to btc podcasts but even then I don't know how. Feels like security issue though.
Getting a lot of what I assume are Bot followers. All are following 51 or 52 people with 1 followers. Be great if they could vamoose
Happy New Year to all the parents out there. What dishes are you adding to the repertoire to spice things up in the kitchen for 2024? As I say to my kids, it can't be spaghetti bolognase every night.
2023 was the year we rotated in thick noodled stir fry.
This year I'm aiming for whole foods only.
Ideas? #food #foodstr
Most of the people I'm talking about aren't public figures but they do put themselves out there publicly. None of us have much in the way of btc (most have none) and zaps/ subscriptions are a way of earning it. BUT I think that path poses a risk.
Put yourself online, tell the world where you'll be 200 nights a year and that you earn sats online, I think that's bad opsec. No one knows how little btc you might have. Do they stop threatening you and/or your loved ones when you show them a shitty balance?
Do the rewards outweigh the risks? Maybe, but best to know the risks. I want it to work, I do, but it's a big hurdle for adoption. Most people here aren't showing their face or giving their name and it's for a reason.
Thanks, this kind of validates my fears. #nostr is no good for performers to promote themselves on as if you're putting your real self online for sats, you're telling the world you're a bitcoiner and thus upping your risk of attack.
