Figuring Nostr out. All help appreciated.

no one I know is wearing a rolex. It's about doxxing yourself and your location in times where btc is seen as a prized posession. Highly successful entertainers can afford security but there are loads of jobbing entertainers who are nowhere close to "rich" who could really benefit from #nostr and LN but the risks are real and important to point out when onboarding. I can't set them up with a wallet and say, 'do this gig and get paid in sats' without also saying, by the way you need to do x,y,z or you're putting you and your family at risk. I've always admired the Odell's, Preston's and McCormacks for putting themselves out there and was interested in their thoughts on it and the methods they might use.

My issue is I'd like a world where performers embrace #nostr and earn sats. It's good for everyone. But to sell them on it they'd need to know the risks, especially the physical risks. These people are open books and most of them don't have the personality type for security, especially physical. The answer is education but for live performers risk mitigation is a tricky balance. Appreciate your time, thank you.

Thanks. That's a hard sell for bringing people into the space, but I get it.

My question to educators in the space.

How would Entertainers balance privacy with #nostr #bitcoin use?

Existing singers, comics etc can't rebrand and create pseudonyms. The nature of our work (and personality), has it that we're not hard to find. As an example, we advertise our live dates, so people know where we'll be and when we're not at home (and content of our work often lets people know our home town so home isn't impossible to find). Multi-sig cold storage is obvious option but feels flimsy under physical attack, especially once they're in your house threatening your family. As Fiat loses power and btc grows these threats grow. Promoting yourself on #nostr (or that you're into btc) feels like you're adding a layer of vulnerability. With conferences and podcasts I'd put yourselves under the "entertainment" umbrella. Wondering if you have the same fears and what you might be doing to mitigate them?

Thanks for your time.

Does anyone know how you tag people in a post? #nostr #introductions

Thanks in advance

Hi #Nostr if @primal has access to my private key in their settings ( I seem to be able to access it if I want to) does that mean they have it? I signed up a year ago through @getalby (I think) now I'm thinking I need to start over.

Thanks! Good to be here.

There is a lot of pondering going on about monetization on Nostr at the moment. I think Nostr badly needs ORIGINAL comedic content.

For video content, there is a new Nostr client called https://www.flare.pub/ that I am yet to try. Live content can be streamed via zap.stream.

Some relays are rolling out Patreon style subscriptions.

For podcast and audio content there is wavlake.com and fountain.fm, not truly full Nostr but with Nostr/LN integration.

I posted about music artist this morning, I believe a similar approach would fit stand up comedy.

Thanks for these. I'll look into them. The first hurdle will be convincing artists to jump on board. But for a live show, it could be a case of paying them in fiat whilst also setting their wallets up, then letting them see the rewards. Hopefully from there, their curiosity grows.

Yes. I see a world where you can stream live and provide access to pre recorded comedy shows, even cabaret, and audiences can reward artists/shows they like in sats.

I have no idea how, still figuring out how to message etc but the open source nature of this space makes it feel inevitable.

I think I just set up LN access. This space feels great.

Follow me, I'll follow back. Here to learn and produce.
