Choose, commit, repeat.

“If I don't learn anything from what you're saying, why say it?” To generally be supportive in a more social manner. To try and create relationships with people you agree with, admire, hope to learn more from. In short, to be nice. Then again, maybe that’s just why I do it and everyone else is a bot.

You can just make sloppy joes on Memorial Day. #foodstr

If you have kids that are learning to read, skate to where the puck is going (especially with boys). Try a Far Side calendar every morning. Try Pokémon cards. Be involved, take turns reading. #dadstr

Also missed the alt milk craze. And so far, haven’t knowingly heard either a Justin Bieber song or a Taylor Swift song. In general, checking out of common culture fads has been a huge net win in my life.

‘Once upon a time a man met the Plague. “What are you up to”, he asked him? “I am on my way to Baghdad to kill 1,000 people.” “Oh”, said the man, “well I suppose that is what you have to do” and he went on his way. A few weeks later he met the Plague again coming back from Baghdad. “You misled me, Plague. You said you would kill 1,000 people but I know for a fact that 2,000 people died. The Plague replied, “No I only killed 1,000 people. The rest died of fear.”’

Not perfect. Meta should be smack on the vertical and dialed up to 11 on authoritarian until proved otherwise. Zuck just basically told everyone that his PR shift is about going after Apple. I think Apple’s first VR set really scared the shit out of him and he’s gone on the offensive to the point where he’s even trying to dial into a virile culture (exactly opposite Apple’s) in hopes of building goodwill with backers that aren’t his instagram users (who would abandon him sooner than fight for him, if they could) or Facebook users (who are all old and worn down). nostr:note19e8vx4gq5fhvveqcls7luxvkhq98nwf0xu2nfwr50zgekj0nxq9qxz24zm

They’re auto complete. But they’re a 10x improvement on auto complete from a user’s perspective. It’s a surprise it didn’t happen earlier at this point.

Personally, my kid rearranged my priorities instantly. Unnecessary stuff fell away without giving them a second thought.

Love it when a plan comes together.
