mine wants to sync the entire chain directly after creating the wallet.
setting a custom restore height only seems to prompt a resync from the beginning.
yeah it won't install an "older" version.
having the wallet sync the entire chain after just being created is an interesting choice.
like how its been impossible to store value in gold for the last 2000 years because of supply inflation?
BTC is regulatory captured by established financial systems, the on/off ramps are gatekept and sovereign usage is practically impossible for normies, private BTC usage is slowly eroded and nobody cares.
therefore BTC just becomes just another asset managed and fractionally reserved on higher layers while sovereign usage is de facto criminalized.
It's pretty straightforward.
and everyone unquestioningly considers this a good thing...
smh
despite the criminality of the govt,
America is still pretty dope
who said I had an account?
and what would I find exactly?
afaict I would install Hub on a vps, correct?
If you think DJT is going to save America you probably also think CSW is Satoshi.
More in a Voltage type way, but easier and targeted to regular user.
Alby Hub is this new open-source wallet app with a lightning node wrapped: https://github.com/getAlby/hub
You can host it yourself - my current setup is built on my Windows (try zapping me, though i must stay online). Or you can pay Alby to host it for you, while the app is encrypted and only you get to know the keys.
And there is choice of LSPs, you can open channel with custom peers, Olympus, Voltage, Megalith, whoever. Doesn't have to be Alby
Ok so suppose I spin one up on a VPS somewhere.
I still have to manage liquidity no doubt?
Are there integrated tools to help with that?
hand waving sacrificing custody is bullshit shitcoiner thinking
i don't make the rules
If the arbitration is reliable this is true.
But its a complicated subject.
DNMs often have dispute arbitration also, but if it's just some dude who DGAF scams can easily happen.
Bitcoiners are racist against range proofs.
You need protocol level privacy. Stop justifying doing it on the app layer.
It cannot be both decentralized abd censorship resistant.
Furthermore you are ALREADY trusting cryptographic primitives everytime you use BTC. Why would you refuse OTHER primitives that provide privacy???
Self custodial in a Phoenix wallet type way?
So Alby is just the LSP then and I trust you with my privacy?
I would try that for sure.
whats the situation with fiat on/off ramps?
still a crap shoot you'll get scammed?
